@burgerdrome wait until you see what im doing at my job 😎
Picket Line, our newspaper, is a project I am really proud of and inspired to work on.
It's the result of the Anarchist Communist Federation's collective work, with comrades from all over writing, designing, editing and typesetting. We have made two issues and the third is on the way. I reckon the end result of our work is pretty high quality!
Hit me up if you see me and I can probably sling you a copy, we offer it by donation (or just asking me nicely).
But I am asking for some solidarity so we can keep this project sustainable, get a solidarity subscription today!
We will post you back issues and every new issue of our bimonthly publication, and you get the nice feeling of supporting the best anarchist publication around.

doas is good tho
like i can install nix or arch from an old iso, but it would be more convenient if I could just have it automatically manage it whenever I leave my USB plugged in for a bit.
I guess there's the problem of background syncing and me not knowing when I unplug but honestly it's probably fairly unlikely. Probably just copy a new one as a temp file then rename it.
Even having windows automatically kept in sync would be pretty handy for the rare case I need it lol - though I doubt microsoft provides a rss feed lol
here me out: a daemon that syncs my ventoy ISOs to my usb when I plug it in, and also automatically manages adding/removing the latest rolling ISOs from my torrent client so I don't have to do it every time I need one.
Earthquake? In my river city?
Is there any use for wifi in the home server or am I unimaginative
so in the last 12 months I have had to replace
2 power supplies
1 motherboard
2 SSDs
1 set of ram
now my server mobo seems to be toast lol. Limping along for a bit... but if I drop off again just assume it's that.
YES WE ARE BACK
Fuckin server ssd died... I am just one failing piece of hardware after another over here!!! fuck!!!
this is a complete lie as far as i can tell
@jack auth providers can't seem to understand that I just want something marginally more convenient than basic auth!
If they hacked my friends email they probably found the postit they write the password on!!!
Not everyone needs auth for something super important! Sometimes I just want a slight hurdle!
Please don't make me store passwords or think about this so hard!!! Having access to an imap inbox is valid authentication!!!
The most enterprise product I have on my server now makes you do shit like this just to use a unix socket for db auth (I have like... a million things using postgres and this is the first to really make me jump to get it to bloody work!)
thanks to old mate here for working it out for me lol
i don't understand why authelia and shit treat magic link authentication as such a bad guy.
they literally say I should teach my users to remember a passphrase and use duo...
bruh i just want to vaguely check it's the right person by sending them an email... my use case is literally "do they have access to this email" is completely sufficient, please just let me do it lol
i swear i have to fix search on masto like every time i look at it lmao.
@ash TECHNICALLY I can fit it!!! I just could not be bothered!
i really should actually put this all in a rack at some point though
@ash for reference, i present the server closet
@ash no idea, it's under my stairs with the cooler hanging out next to a poweredge t420 thats louder lol, I think it's fairly quiet though!
@ash It's actually mostly running at 4.2! I just happend to grab it in a brief moment of throttling. I think it's actually just throttling because it's a really cheap AB350 motherboard lol.
Turns out great things have been happening in china on making cheap coolers and you can buy a huge cooler for not that much, so I have been using one of these for $95
pro-top for copper thieves: make sure it's not fiber before you cut the cable!
