Crossing a crosswalk coming back from the farmer’s market just now I almost got hit by a driver in the wrong lane going around a bus that had been stopped for maybe 10 seconds while picking people up. The driver yelled at me and flipped me off like I was the problem, it was really something else. #FuckCars

I rode down to the waterfront and back today and it was pretty much fine. I had to crank up my e-bike assist and was still riding very slow but I’ll take it, I wasn’t expecting to be functioning this well at just over two weeks post-op.

I had already given up on going to the Pedalpalooza kickoff but now barring any surprises I think I’ll be going and that has me VERY excited.

Without any requests from me two people with an internet following posted about the Bike Fun app yesterday and I feel like the belle of the ball ☺️

Had my post-op checkup with the doc and she said I’m healing very well! I’m allowed to go on short and easy bike rides and short walks which is more than I was expecting to be approved for. I’d love to be able to go to the Pedalpalooza kickoff but I’m not quite sure that’s in the cards yet. I still have over a week so I think there’s a chance which makes me very excited.

Remember the parachute thing from elementary school gym class? Well there’s an adult version coming up as a #Pedalpalooza ride and it looks like such a fun idea

- Any Pixar movie
- Looking at my dog and thinking about how much I love her
- Seeing people help each other and expecting nothing in return
- Watching someone succeed by doing good
- Just appreciating being alive in a moment

If I do port Bike Fun to #Android then I also plan to buy a Pixel phone to use for testing and maybe as a daily driver for a while. Does anyone have opinions on their current lineup?

If I’m not too loopy from pain pills I’m hoping to use my bed rest time to learn Android development and port over the Bike Fun app. I’m not making any promises but for me it sounds like a more enjoyable way to spend my time than playing video games and watching endless movies.

Update for anyone who has listened to my complaining about my recent health issues:

I am having surgery this Friday, after which I’ll have two weeks of bed rest and six more weeks of very limited physical activity (including no biking), and then hopefully the saga will be over. My anxiety is through the roof at the thought of my impending major surgery but it at least feels good to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
