You vibecode by telling a machine to do all your work, I vibecode by punching in raw bytes that I dreamt of last night.
We are not the same.

@nixCraft Haha good one!
@redmp I've played around a bit. Working on verifying a specific bit of buggy code as a test at the moment.
@tertle950 Considering all valve has done for the linux community thats well deserved imo
The dfu-util shipped with popos just put my keyboard into safety mode.
Great...
EDIT: I love having to fix problems that just don't exist elsewhere.
@tertle950 Every year I hear that its the year of the linux desktop. There will never be a year of the linux desktop. Only a year of a specific linux distro.
@BloodborneOnPC haha yeah it does!!!
@nixCraft I just want to finish mine operating system and use it :blobugh:
@codewiz Nah cause that destroys the spirit of retro computing.
Replacing dead ram or dead capacitors with modern ones doesn't violate the spirit IMO.
@codewiz imo there is not such thing as cheating when it comes to usability.
Zip ram doesn’t work and is rare? Just use modern ram!
@johnoestmannmusic Valve is a great credit to the open source community.
As someone who uses #emacs daily, on what I would call a pretty baller machine, I also regularly experience slowdowns in the order of a second.
Using doom emacs helped with the problem actually. Still happens but far less often.
@dcz I’ve two guesses.
1) The battery is crap so the clock slowed down.
2) Perhaps a bit flip cause some weird counting!!
@BloodborneOnPC hullo!! I’m also a bit of a noob here!
@bugwhisperer
I’d recommend going for a forth interpreter first but a simple forth compiler shouldn’t be disastrously hard.
EDIT: As for the name fig would be my goto.
@robertmx @brodriguesco I think rust has a fantastic tooling for fetching packages and such.
EDIT: I missed the point of the original post whoops.
@RadioAzureus yeah hate might be a strong word but I will stick by it.
Userland software should not cause hardware death. This is a fundamental failure at every single level.
Xiaomi
The google team
The android project
The Linux kernel
All for failing to stop issues like this.
@RadioAzureus it’s situations like this where I feel vindicated in my hatred of non-microkernel systems.
