Left Mastodon for a while as a part of some social cleansing. Now I'm back! How is everyone doing?
I've grew up believing that I'm not a visual person. My thing was writing, that's it.
Started doing random MS paint experiments during the pandemic. Look at this thing I made today! Literally cannot believe this. I've reached my artistic peak it's all downhill from here.
Long weekend = time for my newsletter drop!
I started writing this one last year when I had covid and finally got back to it in March. Writers will relate.
My take on why flawed characters are feminist and we should all embrace our flaws 💛
I had mentioned in my #-introduction thread (https://mastodon.social/@zigzackly/109416947653796837) that I had made a crowd-sourced list of independent bookshops in #India.
The map is at https://bit.ly/bookstores-in-india and it is embedded, with a sorted list, in a blog post at https://zigzackly.blogspot.com/2022/06/indie-bookshops-in-india.html
As you will see, it is metro-centric, and large swathes of the country are not represented, including some entire states.
Do please take a look and share links to indie bookshops you personally know of that I missed?
Went to one of the most interesting #artspaces yesterday - Ahmedabad Ni Gufa. A collection of dome like structures that you can move inside. And the inside has painted walls, sloping floors, interesting sculptures and some intriguing acoustics.
Didn't know something like this existed in India, especially in Ahmedabad. Does anyone have more stories / information about this place?

@anubomb are they more wholesome? Where do I find them? I'm also polyam 🥺
@FediFollows Me! I'm in India
Spotify wrapped including MBTI level listening "personalities" is hilarious and a total farce.
But I'm an "Early Adopter", what are youuu?
@vinayaravind ask these friends to travel to meet you and they don't have time or money 😭
Why are almost all queer spaces / events in India focused on drinking and partying? Would love to attend a queer book club or a movie screening or a board game night. 🌻
@vinayaravind I have friends coming from all over the country to Mumbai just to attend this. Truly wild.
As children, the most common way many of us experienced the world outside our hometown was through a train journey. Loved ones and strangers shared snacks... but also ghost stories!
From a tunnel in Himachal to an abandoned railway station in West Bengal, wherever the Indian railways go, ghost stories seem to follow. What is it about trains and train stations that attract the supernatural?

what I mean:
Do digital books last longer than physical books? @brewsterkahle highlights the lengths libraries go through to keep digital books viable: they “need constant maintenance—reprocessing, reformatting, re-invigorating or they will not be readable or read.” http://blog.archive.org/2022/11/15/digital-books-wear-out-faster-than-physical-books/
