تجذبني الآلات الميكانيكية بتروسها ومحاورها وأجزائها المتحركة، لكن للأسطرلابات مكانة خاصة في قلبي. ربما لأنها آلة عجيبة علينا — آلة علمية لكن في نفس الوقت مزخرفة بزخارف بديعة كما لو كانت تحفة تقتنى، وفوق كل هذا تحليها رموز وكتابات عربية خالصة.
