I realized in recent years that USA political system is something entirely unique: a 4-year revolving absolutist monarchy. It was masquerading as democracy with rule of law while most players pretended to play by the rules. Once someone who does not give a shit came along, the facade fell down and revealed all the checks and balances do not exist.
Jack Smith’s investigation being instantly dismantled once Krasnov got re-elected was final proof, as far as I needed.
I hacked together a little CLI over the weekend called spm-audit. It scans your project for SwiftPM dependencies (Package.swift or Xcode), checks GitHub for the latest stable releases, and shows a clean table of what’s outdated. It runs checks in parallel and can optionally include all dependencies, not just direct ones. It's in pre-release but feel free to check it out!

For several days now, I am trying to hack around my ISP provisioned modem for fiber internet, attempting to use SFP ONU stick running open community firmware.
It is a wiiiiiild thing how complex all this "plug the cable and it works" internet networking is. I have flashbacks to building hackintoshes 5+ years ago and realizing just how complex all of that is.
It's incredibly humbling learning all of this.

I specifically moved to Ethernet because the TV kept losing WiFi connection and then forgetting its password.
LG’s TVs have Ethernet ports but their mobile app devs apparently never used it.
It seems I can’t add it to ThinQ app at all. What nonsense this is.
Stranger Things finale was the first time I have seen Netflix stream very pixelated. I truly wonder what was the number of concurrent watching.
@mattiem I tried today with Anker and Belkin ones, specifically Internet sharing.
I needed to share my WiFi internet connection to Ethernet clients where LAN adapter should automatically be assigned an IP address and act as gateway for anything connected to it. But it stays as self-assigned and it simply does not work.
Searching online I found a lot of reports of people with same issues. Apple / Broadcom based adapter don't have such issues.
This is just great...it seems most USB-C to Gigabit ethernet adapters do not work in macOS 15.x (likely also in 26)
Pretty much anything using Realtek family of chips which is Anker, Belkin, UGREEN etc. Just glorious
I am not joking about rescuing projects. I have an 8yrs old project that never transitioned to UIScenes. App works perfectly. But it’s still application lifecycle.
And now Xcode is throwing “…this will become an assert in future versions”. Ka-boom!

@pasi I am eyeing to replace the small screen I have with similar device. Mainly to get proper full screen CarPlay as my current manufacturer’s one is limited to split screen only. So lots of unused space for maps.
@parisba what a horrible situation to be in. Apple seems institutionally incapable to find a humane way to resolve something like this.
