@vriesk omg i feel this!! 😂 i was doing my very best to keep up with this today and thought i had it until some words get exceptions with the way they change when plural, also apparently word for male can change to female in one case?? (im going to email the teacher about this because i blanked out at that point)… slavic languages are HARD. the one i’m trying to learn is slovene. i grew up hearing it but never learned it.

when you start learning a language where every noun has one of three genders assigned to it, depending on how it ends, and each sentence that noun is used in changes gender according to context and amount… and u see people online complain about they/them pronouns 😆

i thought unreal would be too demotivating because it’s so hard to start with (they never made games before) but they all ended up making something. beautiful stuff too! now i think kids don’t care how hard it is to make a game as long as they get to make one.

today was the last class of teaching and one of the students gave me a box of chocolates and thanked me for teaching them how to make games 😭🥲🥰

i like to believe that all that extra effort is more meaningful in the long run.

insisting on making your own game assets… models, shaders, graphics, textures, post processing effects… entirely yourself is tons of work & takes phenomenally longer, but i’m at the point now where i really appreciate hardcore intentionality in art.
