I listened to #CiboMatto’s third/final album *Hotel Valentine* when it came out, but not much since then. *Stereotype A* was always my jam, but of course *Viva! La Woman* is great.

But now I’ve been really getting into *HV*. IT’S SO GOOD!! The production throughout and of course the vocals.

Talking about the sublime in lit class yesterday, I had to quote some of #PercyByssheShelley’s *Mont Blanc*.

@Nonya_Bidniss Nice—and sad. Is there a brand of curry ketchup you use, or just a recipe? Over the holiday I got to enjoy some good summer sausage with some Löwensenf mustard we got at the Christmas market in Cullman, but curry ketchup makes me nostalgic for German train stations!

Yes, to be fair I’m going into desktop mode to install non-Steam games through Heroic. But Heroic issues are secondary to plain old WiFi dropping out and mouse clicks not registering.

I love my new steamdeck, but boy the desktop mode shows me that having a dedicated hardware with a custom tailored version of Linux still stinks. Like not recognizing clicks and the WiFi drops out and everything freezes level of “stinks.”

@mick_collins HUGE deal, and I’ve been teaching it in my sophomore lit classes for a bit. Earlier editions had Gilgamesh and Enkidu fighting Humbaba {Huwawa} by first piercing his seven “auras” or “veils.”

The new version shows that the better translation for that word is SONS. G & E have to kill Humbaba’s children, which weakens and saddens him so that they can defeat him.

* Note that there were many versions, like the King Arthur stories, so there’s not really a single canonical version

Immediately every other city in TN and the STATE ITSELF passed laws to ban this.

Later, courts held that the FCC has no authority to stop states from doing this against their own cities. Chattanooga is just grandfathered in.
