A great read! It's a shame that plastic clothes are still mega popular. Hope generative AI won't continue enjoying the same popularity.

@flaki oooh the hype around the videos will surely take even longer to die down!
Really hoping folks will soon get bored of generating AI pictures of their cats so the popularity of AI drops off.
Such a good post from @whitep4nth3r on the "progress" promised by AI
@janl absolutely. Still looking for even more variety in perspective, demographic and background.
Just chatted to the SIXTH person for my book on switching careers to web dev and, as usual, I am pumped! I love hearing from all the brilliant, weird, wonderful and lovely humans about their web dev quests.
I want to watch a TV series where all artists and authors are paid exactly what their work is worth, and generative art is not allowed to be sold. I wonder how the greater amount of respect given to art and culture would transform the world.
My next personal website task will be to post notes to my website and syndicate to Mastodon and maybe Bluesky. #OwnYourData #IndieWeb #POSSE
@alicetragedy took a peek and now I'm already looking to buy of the books on there! Edit: ok now I have rented How To Love Your Daughter on Libby
To nest or to not nest SCSS... that is the question
Just added two good RSS feeds to NetNewsWire. My morning is off to a good start ☕
@vale thank you! That one was really fun to write. Don't have the time to blog much these days, I miss it!
@vale digging your site structure and content! Gonna subscribe via RSS ⚡
Just spent 20 seconds staring at an online bookstore's little pulsating grey blocks, hardly believing that cdn.shopify.com needs so long to load.
I am making more solid progress than ever before on my book about switching careers into web development.
So I'd like to start tentatively seeking more feedback on the current content.
I'd like a place where people can give feedback, anonymous or not, on content that I share.
What might be best — is a newsletter a good idea? Or perhaps a different platform?
@sarajw how did one manage to get listed in here? 😅
Time to brush up on HTTP status codes 😺 https://http.cat/
We're getting close to the needed signatures against conversion "therapies" in the EU!
Signed as a German. Come on the rest of you, es gibt reichliche Deutsche hier!
We now have the 7 countries over the line, we just need pure numbers - go go go

@alicetragedy feel like the only site I made as a kid (about cats) was in 1999 after a web dev course. Never did delve into the wonderful world of placing images in tables on websites sadly!
@alicetragedy seems like we were the same teenager (second paragraph under keep the internet weird) 😂 except PSP was mainly for making graphics of my fave boy bands :P Nice post 😍 All the things you love come together inform/influence your work, that's magical.
