@daygar Great! I also want to get one.
@evilcookies98 Thanks. I also guess Leasey does it, but I'm not a Leasey user.
Folks, any working JAWS scripts out there to check Foobar2000's total time, remaining time, and elapsed time? I've seen some very old scripts, but they don't work well with JAWS 2025 and the latest Foobar2000 release. I want something other than Leasey which I don't use. NVDA natively provides these features, but JAWS doesn't. Boosts would also be appreciated.
Google NotebookLM is now available for iOS.
VoiceOver users, take note: when opening the app, audio will route to the earpiece at reduced volume. To fix this, simply move focus away from the app and then back to it.

What’s New in TalkBack 16.0 https://accessibleandroid.com/whats-new-in-talkback-16-0/
@BrailleScreen LOL - NVDA tends to say stuff like that a lot as the devs believe in an accurate representation of HTML elements. But sometimes it turns into a hyperaccurate over-representation.
@pixelate And add its superior AI capabilities for image recognition and follow-up questions. Oh wait, did I say superior? VoiceOver doesn't have these features at all 😂
@sclower But in a surprising move, I'm using JAWS more and more these days after 8 or so years of exclusively using NVDA. NVDA's cumulated list of issues is making it all the more difficult for me to use it for many tasks. Its Start Menu Search issues with Win 11 24H2, its poorer support for Powerpoint and Word in Office 365/ 2024, its more basic multi-lingual support for on-the-fly language changes with ALT+SHIFT, etc., has made JAWS a more viable option. And maybe I'm sick and tired of reporting NVDA issues on Github and waiting forever to see them fixed.
Google and Global Accessibility Awareness Day.
TalkBack 16 is getting the follow-up question feature with its AI image recognition, and Chrome on desktop is getting OCR for image-based PDF files.

Gemini Live Camera Stream and Screen Sharing Impressions: Is Gemini Ready to Be the AI Assistant for the Blind? https://accessibleandroid.com/gemini-live-camera-stream-and-screen-sharing-impressions-is-gemini-ready-to-be-the-ai-assistant-for-the-blind/
WhatsApp Beta tips for the new web app.
1. Turn off the virtual cursor or equivalent. This makes the navigation a little more like what you are used to, although not completely of course.
2. When you are focused on a chat, which is what I refer to as an element of a conversation, there are two context menus. I know, crazy. Pressing the Application Key gives you some options, but perhaps not those which you would want, such as reply. Items on the first context menu include Contact Info, Mute, etc.
However, what isn't perhaps so well known is this. If you press right arrow on a message, that will allow you to do things with the focused message, and one of those is to activate the second context menu. On that menu, you do have options such as reply and forward.
3. There are keyboard shortcuts, such as, Reply, ALT+R. Reply privately, ALT+Control+R, etc. These are all listed in Settings, keystrokes and actions.
4. What is missing particularly is keystrokes to move to different areas, such as the conversation list and chat list within a conversation. I'm having to script those.
I'll pass on more information when I discover what it is.
@mhussain @JustinMac84 Thanks. I'll check it with the next football game in the UK.
WhatsApp for Windows. Just to let people know. that if you use the beta, as of this morning there is a new web-based app rather than the more traditional one. Users who are not working with WhatsApp beta are still on the older app.
As I've indicated, this is a completely redesigned app which I am just getting used to.
How accessible is it? Actually not too bad. I can certainly do everything I could do before as far as I can see.
How efficient is it in terms of navigation? Not as great as we are used to, but I'm quite sure that can be scripted.
In summary, I seem to be able to do most things. It's just that it takes me longer.
@vick21 It doesn't work well here at all. I have a Plus subscription but Siri oftentimes tells me sorry, ChatGPT is not available.
@tristan Guess I found out why I can't use Miniflux. Apparently it's not a stand-alone program. It needs to be installed on a server first.
@tristan Well, I'll be reinstalling Miniflux for a fair and accurate comparison as I haven't touched it for a year or so. As I do so, I'll be posting my findings here. I really want Miniflux to do the job on Windows this time around.
@tristan Thanks for sharing the RSS feeds! I want to share mine as I'm an avid RSS user. However, I'd like to know what RSS reader you use for Windows. You mentioned Miniflux, but honestly I don't like it for reasons beyond this post. I use Fluent Reader, but need something more updated and better maintained. lire rocks on iOS, though.
@Dennislong82 And I'd rather you not be a fanboy. Those who have implemented AI into their accessibility solutions, including Google for TalkBack, haven't done it in a bad or hurried way. Apple's inaction in the AI arena has been criticized by the so-called sighted community time and again, so there's no reason to give them a pass when it comes to AI and accessibility. Of course, fanboys can have their own excuses.
@JamminJerry Hmm - interesting. Perhaps they hadn't pushed it as an update when you used the built-in update facility.
