Small plea: please stop bringing-up heavy-bottomed fonts whenever accessibility for dyslexic people is being discussed, especially if you are not dyslexic, because it is limiting discussion.

These heavy-bottomed fonts get a lot of attention paid to them, but there is no peer reviewed evidence for them being helpful for dyslexic people of any age or reading ability.

They are preferred by some dyslexic people, but for others they actively hinder readability.

@sol I was discussing this with my brother the other day. The difference between having some framed pictures and printed albums, rather than millions of almost identical photos on different phones.

#introduction I’m Alessia, Italian type designer living in London. I design + build fonts and teach typography. I co-run Typeland (@typeland ), a small type foundry, with Vaibhav Singh.

In my spare time I collect and organise stamps, and I try to get rid of the spider mites that are attacking one of my plants.
