Can we as a society STOP WITH THESE FUNCKING REDESIGNS?! We had ir right with Android whatever 3 or 4 vesions ago. No need to redo what is functional and we’re used to.

And it’s not just Android. Windows 11 is inventing the wheel all over again. Like dude, you did it with Windows 10. Why are you remaking everything? Just maintain, fix bugs and from time to time a feature that’s needed.

I feel like more and more IT companies are changing designs just for the sake of looking fresh.

EDIT:
Wait, Android 16? I don’t remember hearing about Android 15, did I miss something?

All I was saying it should keep your phone locked after the BT was toggled

at the very least, you can easily install some TV oriented apps.

Good luck. It is a bit weird getting setup at first with the way they do profiles, but once its set you dont have to think about it if you need to make a new alarm.

Thanks I will also give this a try.

No, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have a technical level of control over young kids devices in partnership with close supervision. It’s that or no phones until they’re 16.

I watched 10 minutes or so of this and it was actually fun. For some users a home theater system in this format could be a neat hack.

“Alarm Clock for Heavy Sleepers” also known as AMDroid Alarm clock.

Yes it can shuffle music.

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amdroid…

Downsides; Not FoSS and not free, however it is a cheap one time purchase, no subscriptions. free version ads are just unobtrusive banners.

Features:,

  • Incredibly customizable, I never knew there could be so many alarm options - but there are.
  • you can make different alarm profiles, so you only have to set up each “type” of alarm you want once. From there, you just set a time and pick a profile with your settings. Everything from this point on is profile specific.
  • pick any sounds on device (or a folder for random picks), set volume, vibrate, ingnore do not disturb, ignore headphones plugged in, etc.
  • Calandar integration. If you have a sceduoe that varies, you can set it up to follow that instead of set-days and times.
  • One time skip and one time adjust buttons. Need to wake up an hour early one day, got tomorrow off? Just use these to make the adjustment, next day the alarm will back to normal.
  • optional post alarm “are you awake?” notifications. Dismiss the alarm but fell back asleep? After a few minutes (user set time) it will ask if your awake. With no response, after some time the alarm will go again. (With a different sound or volume if you like)
  • snooze timmer can decrease each time you use it. First snooze 10 min, next is 8, then 6 and so on.
  • various optional challenges. Easy things like type out this text, to the WiFi signal must be higher than X (go stand next your router to shut off alarm).
  • location based settings - for example, morning alarms only go off at hone, break alarms only go off at work.
  • the list continues for some time, but I’ll stop here.

Looking back at HMD’s models after 2020 I think this is pretty plausible, with how all their smartphones during this period are likely ODM model - you can tell with how they all use the same Unisoc or MediaTek SoCs. I mean, only smartphones that are outsourced to Chinese ODMs would ever use these chips, you’ll see this with other brands too.

Perhaps zombie brand mode would also be a suitable term, if not for the recent Skyline and Fusion which feels like genuine efforts from HMD, though they really won’t be competitive outside of Europe if you ask me.

You have to be logged into a Google account for this to work. Also not mentioned is whether a new android version is required.

Could it be a security measure, to stop others from enabling it on your locked device, since enabled bluetooth might be a weakness security-wise?

I trust my kids to mostly only use the devices how I say. The security is mainly to keep their mum happy

It sounds like you should simply trust your kids and convince your better half that she should do the same.

Why do you still want to extract the encrypted data? Do you still have the encryption key somehow? Else even if you desolder the storage, manage to dump the raw bits, you won’t be able to get anything useful from it.

Sideloading xpi’s is possible on Iceraven as well. I used *Smart Cookie Web preview * in the past but it was slightly lighter in terms of feature set then.
