@nyx@social.xenofem.me idk I have had horrible luck with xmpp over the years. servers missing features, clients missing features, clients just straight up not working or having busted packaging you have to clean up just to compile. synapse is big and slow and idk how tf people scale it (based on matrix.org they dont) but running a single user instance is pretty painless
