One hour ago, the DDoS protection on Masto.host was activated.
This occasionally happens for a few minutes and rarely has an impact. But today it looks like there is a significant DDoS attempt, and it's causing response times to be slow or to timeout.
Really sorry about that. I will continue to monitor and provide more information.
With the news that botsin.space is closing, we've had multiple requests for hosting bots on #WikisWorld. We are looking to formalize our draft bot policy, if you have a wiki-related bot and would like to host it here, please let us know if this policy would work for you or if you'd want to see changes.

Wikis World has been upgraded to Mastodon 4.3!

Our fiscal host, Open Collective Foundation (OCF), have announced plans to dissolve by the end of this year. We're still looking at our options and will communicate more once we've decided what's next for us.
In the meantime, wikis.world will continue operating as usual. We won't be able to accept any more donations after March 15th - however we have enough funds at OCF already to last us until their shutdown so this will not cause any near-term issues.
#WikisWorld is now running Mastodon 4.2.5, which contains today's security patch.

The #Mastodon moderation model is heavily dependent on reports by users. While moderators watch the local and federated timelines, we can't see everything all the time. This is especially true for unlisted, followers-only, and direct messages.
If you see something that doesn't belong here, either from a wikis.world member or another server, please report it.
