Loving the cow in #MarioKartWorld !
@Brenden It's a Unity orthographic camera, the game world is regenerated as a mesh each frame, with all transform being done in C#. The tracks are primarily procedurally generated. I wrote a bit (and did a video) about the origins of the game: https://www.reddit.com/r/IndieGaming/comments/1g6rnsj/how_leading_edge_became_reality_drift/
@llamasoft_ox One of my old ideas was Cattlefield 1942. You experience WWII from the perspective of a cow.
I'll be demoing Reality Drift at the Norwich Games Festival tomorrow and Friday!
@llamasoft_ox My initial idea for my game jam game was to do a version of Hard Drivin', called Herd Drivin', where you would collect 3D beasts and they would trail behind your car while you did stunts. I made this model for it, but I don't know how to do decent car physics so I abandoned that idea and did Captain Beast instead.
Nothing says "rebel" like a corporation hiring a consulting company to conduct a user survey to determine if the new design enables brands using it to appear sufficiently more "rebellious" than the previous design language.
Irony is dead.
Excellent new character artwork from @emilylorange
Game: Reality Drift
Imagine my disgust when I realised Xbox achievements "icons" need to be 1920x1080p.
Can achievements just fuck off, now? The absolute worst part about shipping a game by a million billion fucking miles.
I made a game for Atari's "I, Rebel" game jam, to be judged by, and the theme "A Perfect Beast" chosen by, @llamasoft_ox
"Captain Beast" is inspired by the 1988 #AtariST game Captain Blood.
This is the first time I've done a #gamejam despite having started as a professional game dev 25 years ago

The fact that this is what Microsoft calls it's Office App on mobile now is absolutely hilarious to me. No sane person would look at this name and conclude it's office
Unity has updated their DOTS Samples repository with two new documents: "Misconceptions about DOTS and Entities" and a performance checklist.
They are both really good and should be pinned because they are a fantastic step towards undoing a lot of confusion that Unity's communication has caused in the past.
Find them linked in the ReadMe here:

More & more convinced the Zelensky dressdown went exactly as planned.
Still too many people, even republicans, viewed him as a victim. How to sell to your voters that you'll abandon someone like that?
So they set up the "how dare you not be thankful" trap, expecting this to be so brazen that in the moment he would not just roll over and die. Then they could just make a scene.
The result: they can now claim he is ungrateful & disrespectful. You can stop feeling pity for him. Absolved of guilt.
Some coverage of Reality Drift!
