I guess for many people there’s been many different times but: for me when Tweetbot was kicked off Twitter, it died. Haven’t had Twitter (or Instagram, Facebook, etc.) on my phone full-time for years but Ivory and Mastodon finally feel like a friendly, non-addictive place.

Hopefully all the annoying people on Twitter can stay there a bit longer.

The only thing which has worked so far is to create a new user account on the same laptop and move everything over, but reconfiguring that way has taken me a couple hours so far...

I've messed up my MacOS laptop into a state where the menu bar is grey, the dock has disappeared, the launchpad and all the desktop switching functions are somehow disabled. Let me know if you have any ideas. I've tried googling a solution, playing with the settings, rebooting in safe mode, using the keyboard shortcut to show the dock, removing all my Preferences in the Library directory, and several other things. Argh. I wonder, is it possible to corrupt the SQLite database that oascript uses?

But it created a great story 🙂
