That explains a lot.
Small label(1999-2023), music blog, and fan of music. We support local, independent, and DIY musicians and the music they make.
That explains a lot.
@briankrebs This isn’t the ‘Red Dawn’ we were promised—no paratroopers, no AKs, just trucker-hat-wearing Manchurian candidates handing over cyber battle plans like it’s a tailgate party. Wolverines would be rolling in their graves.
@_L1vY_ Mine did the same thing (it was burnout due to Covid). I switched practices and highly suggest seeing Physicians Assistants rather than docs. My PCP is a PA, and the two specialist I see I am seen by PAs.

@MetalheadDana Fanboy away. After Covid, I made it a point to fanboy bands and get some pictures with them. Take the chance while it’s there.
When I was 20, if you’d told me I’d never see a woman President, I’d have laughed in your face. But now that I’m 63, I know it’s reality. How can that be? How can this country be almost 250 years old & have never put a woman in the White House? We’re more than half the population. WE’RE MORE THAN HALF THE POPULATION OF THIS GD COUNTRY & NOT ONE OF US HAS EVER BEEN PRESIDENT. 1/2
@jnv Nice, noticed they are on Spartan Records. Spartan has put out some great bands. The best part is the album was recorded and engineered by Scott Evans of my favorite band KOWLOON WALLED CITY.
I didn't have any interesting music discovery in a while, but this doom metal / post-rock / grunge band Museum Of Light really got me with their latest single: https://museumoflightband.bandcamp.com/track/blunt-force-drama
Set up an ABY switch and cleaned up my cable routings. Try to have good balance of fun, good tone, and options. Not too shabby for my little home rig.
The BandCamp app on my phone updated. I lost all my downloads and my listening history was reset. Luckily, my playlists are intact. Anyone else experience this? Wondering if it’s a bug, or an anomaly. #BandCamp
Reviving a hashtag... #FolkMusicFriday ! For all the people in warm climates pining for the shivers, this week's topic is "Snow!"
To start, here's a song performing one of folk music's most important jobs, telling stories too many people want to forget.
"Charlie Wenjack" by Willie Dunn, from 1971
What’s one band or album you just cannot give up? “Do Not Resuscitate” by MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD. The whole album jams, but when Animal Mother comes on… I lose it.
Made the drive to Cleveland (OH) to see a long time favorite Social Distortion. While we were there, stopped to look at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Not something I particularly care about, but ‘‘twas there.
New ep from DotyBoy. A long time musician from the greater South Bend, Indiana area, Doty keeps it real. Lots of interesting textures on this new ep. Give it a listen. https://michaelharolddoty.bandcamp.com/album/7-experiments-in-lunacy #localmusic #localartist
After much reflection, I decided to shutdown BGR. Various forces brought me to this decision. However, I still need an outlet to discuss music. So to that end, this account will contain personal thoughts and projects of others I want to support. Thanks to all those that did support BGR over the years.
Spread the word! South Bend/Mishawaka, IN this Saturday night.
