congrats to my dad for finishing the Beijing Marathon in 3h45m, qualifying for the 2024 Boston Marathon! (especially since he didn't start running til his ~50s :))

here are two pics i took of my parents on their first trip to Europe. the first one is after dinner in Venice, the second is in the same place 12 hours later after their 6am run. #wholesomecontent

@trav_stone i've heard some headliners put in their contracts that they have to be X decibels louder than the supporting acts. so dumb.

people whose livelihood depend on having accurate hearing know this and they are always the ones wearing earplugs at their own shows!! if they are doing it you should be too. get the most comfortable, flattest-response earplugs you can afford. you won't regret it.

everyone wants the sound guy to turn up the volume for their set so that their music sounds "better" but this is just a race to the bottom

the first time i dj'ed a festival without earplugs i had ringing in my ears for a week. most music producers i know wear earplugs **when playing shows**

crazy how we've just accepted that we'll need to wear earplugs at shows for the rest of our life instead of addressing the fact that shows are just too loud
