There is no feature you could build for me to switch from Raycast to Spotlight again.

@steipete Just today I had a thought to write playbooks for code style review, documentation and testing as separate md files for the different tasks in my daily workflows where AI really makes a difference, so your post and especially the playbook comes at exactly the right time. 😊 And welcome back 👋🏼

@mactanaka That‘s great news, I was hoping for something like that. Love your app!

A note, a feature request and a question, though:
1) It should be „doesn’t contain“ instead of „doesn’t contains“
2) I would love to filter shorts on a per channel basis as well
3) Should a combination of title and description filters be working by matching with AND or OR? For the example in the screenshot the list came up empty, but I was hoping for monologues and „A Closer Look“ segments (OR combination).

A channel filter in the app Play for the YouTube channel „Late Night with Seth Meyers“ where the title filter looks for videos containing „A Closer Look“ and the description filter looks for videos containing „monologue for“.

@BasicAppleGuy I thought it was common knowledge, but the solution is to make use of multitouch: drag the app as you do right now, but not to a folder. Instead tap that folder with another finger and then let go of the app inside the folder area.

Bonus tip: if you want to move more apps into that folder, then you need to drag the first app as before, tap all the other apps to create a stack and move the stack into the folder.

@lehtimaeki I have no idea about Octopus, but I can recommend looking into Bürgerwerke (buergerwerke.de/oekostrom/buer). I think that concept is worth supporting, even if it’s not the cheapest. I‘m a customer there and had no problems so far, although also no interactions besides signing up.

2025-04-28

@coolcut Oh yeah, good to know, thanks!

2025-04-28

@coolcut To add to my „feature request“: those family-/couple-groups should ideally also have shared notes. For example: if one of them tells me that they’re going on vacation in summer, I could see myself writing a note that applies to both of them.

2025-04-28

@coolcut Congrats on your launch! The app looks really good and making privacy a priority is something I can only applaud!

So far I‘m using Catchup (apps.apple.com/de/app/catchup-) for this and one thing I‘m missing there and sadly missing in your app as well is grouping friends for the „keep in contact“-nudging. What I mean is if I contact a friend of mine, I normally don’t need to catch up with his wife 2 days later, but I still want to remember her birthday. I hope that makes sense 😅

2025-04-10

@RobW There’s a way to do it, but it has a catch: open the website you want to add to your homescreen, then activate flight mode (+ turn WiFi off), reload the website, so that it says „no network“. Add that to your homescreen, it’s now not a PWA and it will work as soon as you activate internet access again. The catch is that the icon doesn’t look good.

I think I remember that there’s a way to fix that with some Java Script injection, but I can’t find that anymore.

2025-03-16

@RobW The character limit won‘t be enough for all my shortcut automations 😅

CarPlay is probably the best one: it activates my travel focus mode, looks into my calender and filters for events with a location in the next 3 hours and starts TomTom for that location if I‘m not already there.

For NFC I have a tag on my printer that opens its configuration page. I have done the same for the Raspberry Pis.

For Location I have DND after confirmation at church and a reminder to check-in/-out at work.

Of all the incredible iOS conferences I’ve been to, @ARCticConference is best described as ‘an experience’. ❄️
You owe it to yourself to get to it next time.

@dimsumthinking I thought that asking Siri „What can I do here?“ while the app is open was the way to get it, but that didn’t work.

What does work is asking Siri „What can I do with [App Name]?“ Here‘s an example (in German) for Play. I‘m not sure if that covers all available phrases though.

Looking forward to your workshop in Oulu 😊

Siri‘s response to my question „What can I do with Play?“. It gives me a few phrases that the app supports, like „Watch a random video in Play“.

@mergesort you may be in luck, because @nate just left The Browser Company and joined Anthropic. So if he’s in charge of anything app-related there, I‘m pretty sure that it will become really good 😉
