Cool thing happened this week: a long-time Rubyist from Asheville discovered our conference from the @rubycentral website and immediately got a ticket. Turns out, he owns a cocktail bar 3 blocks from the venue! Like, whaaa? π€― Needless to say, think we'll be stopping by! π https://littlejumbobar.com/
We have the beginnings of our official conference guide to Asheville up on our site. It's a WIP, but for now you can find the bands/musicians playing the week of the conf. πΈπΆ https://blueridgeruby.com/guide/ Food, beverage, and site-seeing recommendations to come!
@kevin_j_m Sure thing! π
@kevin_j_m Biltmore is usually an all-day thing. It starts with a tour of the house (our reservation is at 10:45am, but we have to be there at 10am) and lasts 1.5-2 hours. Then lunch, and touring the gardens and grounds can take 2-3 more hours. You might be able to squeeze in the house tour, skip everything else and be off the estate around 1-1:30pm.
@kevin_j_m Thanks for asking! The time frames include travel time. For Biltmore, tubing, and hiking, we will begin and end at the Renaissance Hotel parking lot (a block over from the conference venue). For tubing, they will bring a bus to pick us up. For Biltmore and hiking, we will either carpool or rent vans (if needed).
π We've just published the details for our Saturday groups activities. Check them out and register or RSVP now! https://blueridgeruby.com/activities/
π If you're coming with a friend or S.O. you are welcome to include them!
