Here's how I build up my #plasbeams model. It starts with just the long bar, with the slot (magenta) subtracted and the tab (cyan) added.

The second step is to subtract all the screw holes - that's all the magenta stuff in the middle. Every part has been carefully considered and tuned for reliability.

The long thin magenta bars underneath are to turn the first layer's perimeter into one long unbroken outline - this is a trick to make small holes in the first layer more reliable. #3DPrinting
