Does anyone know if there are still computer nerds (or computer history musea) out there that are looking for ancient historical gems like this, a DEC Alpha 21164 system?
No idea if it still works.
If someone is interested, or if you know someone I can reach out to, let me know.

@RichiH It definitely was tasty and interesting!
For anyone interested in LLMs, in particular how they're able to do what they do today, this is a must see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xTGNNLPyMI
Andrej Karpathy (co-founder of OpenAI) does an amazing job at explain how modern LLMs are trained, and give a ton of insights on caveats.
Over the next couple of years the European Environment for Scientific Software Installations (EESSI) will be integrated into the EuroHPC Federation Platform (EFP)
More information via https://www.eessi.io/docs/blog/2025/02/10/integration-efp
The development effort started Jan 2025, and is funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.
Quoting Henrik Nortamo, technical lead of the EFP consortium:
“This would not be possible without open source.”
Another #FOSDEM ask/offer:
We are actively interested in loaning our video boxes to other conferences. If you want an easy, #opensource, and #openhardware way to record video and laptop, do let me know.

And yes, they frickeled the microphones just before the talk, normally the sound quality is good. We're aware of the irony :)
Retoots appreciated, as always.
@RichiH Oh really…
That’s good to know!
