Fuck it. I’m back on Ivory.
I have been laughing at this for a solid day.
😡 I am so goddamn mad about this.
Howdy, everyone! It kinda feels like it's a good time for an updated #introduction, no?
Name's Jason. I'm the fella behind `simian.rodeo`, a place for sad-eyed space cowpokes. Registrations are (kind of) open. I'll explain more here:

I run a #WordPress and #WebPerf consultancy at:
My other loves include: my wife Sarah, our three chihuahuas, good (and bad) cinema, audiobooks, rooting for the #Lakers, #Dodgers, & #LAFC, and democratic socialism.
My Libby holds for Nelson Algren's "A Walk on the Wild Side", the Steinbeck biography "Mad at the World", and Hamilton Nolan's "The Hammer" all dropped within 16 hours of one another.
And, to make matters worse, I'm midway through Roland Allen's "The Notebook" with maybe another two days before I'm done. :melting_sweat:
I just saw a headline on The Verge about Mr. Bean being in the new season of "Love, Death, and Robots" (a show I've never watched) and, I'll be honest, I was a little intrigued.
Once I realized that I'd misread and they were actually talking about MrBeast, I lost all interest.
I know that there are plenty of people out there who didn't like S3 of The Bear, but this trailer has me legitimately excited for S4 in June.
Every time 1960s Jane Fonda comes on screen — especially when either “Sunday in New York” or “Barefoot in the Park” is on TV — you’re legally required to at least mutter “Jesus Christ” under your breath.
I'm opening up registrations on `simian.rodeo`. Well, kind of…

$10 and you're in. If you can't abide by our Code of Conduct, you're gone. No refunds.
Ten spots open for now. Gonna see how the server handles this first wave of users, then maybe I'll open it up for another round.
Why now? I've wanted to add more people to the server for a bit. I can't just open the floodgates tho. The last thing I want to do is mod a bunch of Nicole the Fediverse Chick spam accounts.
The $10 helps me cover server costs, yes. More importantly, if you want in bad enough to drop $10, you're probably not going to be an asshole.

“Mac,” he said, “you’re the craziest mess of cruelty and haus-frau sentimentality, of clear vision and rose-colored glasses I ever saw. I don’t know how you manage to be all of them at once.”
“Nuts,” said Mac.
The doctor yawned. “All right. We’ll leave it at nuts.”

Ever want to watch a 2h 40m Kurosawa movie with ~30m of randomly placed commercial breaks? Tubi's gotchu...
"In the jail there were some Party men. They talked to me. Everything's been a mess, all my life. Their lives weren't messes. They were working toward something. I want to work toward something. I feel dead. I thought I might get alive again."

Em dash gang, mount up!
Man, fuck a robot. I’ve been using em dashes for twenty years — and I ain’t about to stop just because sparkling autocorrect is trying to steal my vibe.
maybe now we’ll finally get a painstaking 4K restoration of Mitchell! (1975)
Feeling like a real piece of shit after accidentally stepping on a snail in a poorly lit area of our backyard. :oh_no: :oh_no_bubble:
You don’t buy Taco Bell, you just rent it.
"Try as I might, I will never understand what makes other people tick, but I love that they are ticking. I love that their hearts are working."
@monteiro continues to be one of my very favorite people writing on the internet. :melting_heart:
