Damn that was a dumb mistake but all is well now. I suppose the bright side is that I got rid of all the crusty bits from previous install…

So. A few days ago, I transplanted my #freebsd box into a larger case (Corsair Graphite Series 780T from a Cooler Master masterbox Q300L if it matters) and I’m still floating down from cloud 9 😆 I actually managed successfully format several extra drives. The only real speed bump was that I failed to realize that I plugged the boot drive into a different port and it subsequently failed to mount properly. I didn’t realize until 10 seconds after I started a fresh reinstall… 🤦🏽‍♀️ #dohhhhhh

@ElegantEssence I lie. I mean I refreshed pkg apps...

@ElegantEssence Yeah . I updated ports, then BOOM everything broke. So i wound up just reinstalling 14.2 and lots of tinkering with xorg.conf later, I got it back to working. I could probably have done that without completely reinstalling but needed to refresh my install anyway...

AAAANNNNNDDDDD we're back! It took me 3 hours to fix it but I FINALLY got my 1660 to work properly! \o/ #FreeBSD 😍 😆

Ahhhh great. I upgrade video card to gtx 1660 and things go to shit again >_< #FreeBSD #facepalm

I should literally stop upgrading #FreeBSD on the point upgrades. There’s always SOMETHING wrong with it recently… 😕 Just upgraded to 14.2 and I really really really really don’t want to fresh reinstall 14.1. Guess I’ll just wait for 14.1 end of life 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have put my old #FreeBSD box in the donation pile (with hard drive removed of course) with the intention of eventually building a bigger stronger box for it later down the line. I am thinking of taking it back in the meantime until I can get the funds to build the new computer. But my space is limited… what do? 🤔

Welp. Just freshly reinstalled Windows 11 23H2. 24h2 beta was fun while it lasted. Note to self: NEVER FUCKING EVER INSTALL WINDOWS BETAS ON FAVORITE MACHINE EVER AGAIN! 😡 If it matters , most of it was because APPARENTLY there was a *Windows* bug that messed up one of the pieces of anti cheat software (and me messing it up the rest of the way trying to fix it)… ummmm fuck…? Anyway, now onto the long slog of setting my shit back up again … 🤷🏽‍♀️

Honestly all anticheat software needs to burn in a damn fire. It causes SO MANY FUCKING ERRORS >_< Or at least give me the option to turn it off.
