The Banded Demoiselle has appeared in numbers over the last couple of days, a newcomer in this area only a few years ago, it’s now well established, and an utter joy to see! Galloway, South West Scotland.

A Banded Demoiselle, a stunning small damselfly, coloured emerald green through to sapphire blue. This one sits on a blade of grass everything else in the picture is out of focus, including a couple of buttercups, just behind our stunning subject
