one of my favorite spy movie bits is when someone opens a briefcase and there's parts of a sniper rifle all laid out neatly and they start assembling the sniper rifle

This channel is where I post random furry-ish stuff. Mostly SFW but as always 18+
Please don't confront me with my failures. I have not forgotten them

As Cargie is now my main fursona I wanted to revise her and give her a more "grownup" appearance. Don't worry, the twintails are not going anywhere and the other version is still VERY much active, this is just what she looks like when she's not, y'know, trapped in a reality loop or something.
She is based heavily on Kim Wexler from Better Call Saul, who I adore <3
@cinnamon erf, thats unfortunate .. i wouldn't want to lose all my posts
does anyone know if its possible to change your mastodon username (@cargo in this case) i can change my display name but is the username fixed
Hello Meow! It's been awhile. Oh, this and that. How are you?
turns out i REALLY needed to hear the Severance theme song via 2× Commodore 64 SID sound chips (in stereo)
A merry Christmas to you and yours. Here is a piece of art I drew when I was about 5 depicting the birth of Jesus
i can't help it i still love this aesthetic
@chipotle the thinking that goes "we just have to incorporate moderation into the protocol!!" is just the worst case of Engineer Brain I know of

Welp one thing about meow.social is that I doubt jesse singal and his howler monkeys will ever take an interest in this instance
@AliothFox i'm running ubuntu off the USB stick and it seems to be working fine for what i want.
@AliothFox i'm doing a linux boot usb stick to pull the files off that way. hopefully it will work. removing the HD and plugging it into another computer is the next step if this fails.
@captpackrat i've been advised that a linux USB boot is the best way to do it, so thats probably what i'll do. thank you!
Technical friends, I am having an issue with a Windows 10 laptop i am trying to get into. It contains files on the hard drive that a relative wants. They do not know the password to this machine. When booting up the machine it puts me to the Pam Smith login and cannot switch to any other users. The reset password flow is of no use as the security questions are also unknown. I am trying to get in via Administrator in safe mode, however, when I go into the Admin command prompt and type "net user" to list all the user accounts, the one I want, "Pam Smith" does not appear. However, there is a C:\Users\Pam Smith directory full of files. Questions:
- Can I just use the admin command prompt to zip the relevant files off the HD and send them elsewhere? I know exactly where they are on the HD and can see them. However it doesn't seem to want to activate the wifi. there's no network interface available.
- If I try to log in as administrator in safe mode, it kicks me to the windows login screen for the nonexistent user Pam Smith, where I do not know the password. I cannot switch users or get in as Administrator.
- If I created a new user called Pam Smith would it point to the correct directory? Or is the original Pam Smith user somewhere else in the system that I can't get to? It is Home Edition win10, not a business laptop so probably does not have the workgroups and such that would be in a pro edition install.
I am not especially familiar with Windows so i'm sort of groping in the dark here. And all the advice i've found on the internet advises me to do things that don't exist.
Just asked @cargo why they built a highway to the Danger Zone. They responded instantly with,
"To relieve traffic congestion on the surface roads to the Danger Zone."
Never ask why I married them, the answer is self-evident.
*adoration*
@kauko yes, its blocking features are superb. theres a few things I like better about Mastodon, and a few things I like better about Bluesky. Bluesky's search and discoverability is excellent. The feeds and starter packs are a good innovation. I wish it had longer posts and editing. But at the end of the day Bsky is the most "twitter-like" of the replacements and it seems to be picking up steam now.
so i'm active here and on Bluesky and in recent weeks it seems that Bsky has been deemed the official refuge from the sinking ship that was Twitter, and its exploded in traffic. It was a quiet, chill place for like a year (though not without its dramas) and now it feels like a busy airport arrivals deck with people getting their luggage and hugging and getting the Party Started. I've already seen the big resist-lib grifter accounts start to pop up and immediately scoop up thousands of followers. they really operate on a different plane of existence than us normies.
This place is still chill though <3
imagine if this was cohost 😭
