me: the hellsite doesn't impact my productivity. I am impervious to the mental health effects of consuming terrible content constantly. this is fine. I could totally logoff if I wanted to

also me: feels generally less anxious and finally starts getting things done after quitting the hellsite

This seems like an appropriate first comic for mastodon.

@obfuscurity So hard to not watch.. Removed all my follows and set to private. That way I can’t go back and see the curated content as I used to.

@Nightyear I’m hoping the influx of people increases the development of the apps. I noticed that the “turn off animated emojis” option doesn’t work on “Mastodon for iPhone and iPad”, and neither does alt text with the iphone screen reader.

@ajohnsocyber This is why as a Linux/Unix Systems Engineer, I primarily followed infosec folks on the bird site, and why I joined the infosec instance. I do seemingly mundane things at my job (and automate them), which are important defense.

@bauddharma I’m new to Mastodon, is this a bug or a feature?

@caleb Thanks for being my first follower! Sensu is one of my favorite things. I’m always the first to notice problems in our department (because I use Sensu and they use the mandated large corporate tool that isn’t so great).

#Introduction I started my career in 2006 as a Solaris Sys Admin for a bank. In 2013 I moved onto Linux (RHEL) at a tech company IT department (there is a bit of HP-UX as well). Tools I currently use to automate most of my job: #Chef, #Ruby, #Sensu, #InfluxDB. I’m not about the next “shiny new thing”. If something still works well, I will stick with it unless I see a practical reason to change.
