@mxjxn It's my understanding that most of those apps should also support Pleroma. Also, I hope to migrate in such a way that nobody loses their account here.

Pleroma requires a fraction of the resource of Mastodon and is said to be easier to deploy.  This are the same reasons I picked GNU Social in the first place.

Yeah, so I got a note from my ISP saying the SQL queries run by this instance were ruining the server for everyone and I promised to migrate to Pleroma ASAP and that was like 6 weeks ago, so maybe I should go do that now.

Anyways, that's why I've not been posting here, as it probably makes them more likely to notice that I haven't gotten around to fixing the problem.

I went to the one at the British Library last night and afterwards I heard it was the largest ever with like 700 people?  It didn't seem that big to me, but it's a huge space,  so I don't know.

There's a lot of terrible content on the fediverse, but having a server that doesn't require much resource is not inherently bad.
A lot of FOSS has shitty Devs. On the other hand, apple and Microsoft are consistently blandly liberal in a semi-acceptable way.

If I set up a #pleroma instance at foo.bar.com and later move it to baz.bar.com, so just the subdomain switches, is that really hard or easy enough?
