One big thing that's changed with the latest round of #wwereleases is that there are plenty of good options out there for wrestlers. Competition is only a good thing for everyone.

I can only avoid ‘catching feelings’ if I stop doing anything affectionate or sexy with men. And where the fuck is the fun in *that*?

@chrisbrosnahan Sense8, kinda? It was an excellent show all told, if more than a bit weird at times.

You are right, as so often! Some soaps are true groundbreakers.

Interesting that cheating is everywhere, non-committed non-monogamy is common, but threaten monogamy itself...?

The answers I've had have, so far, been involving SF mainly. The most positive, casual one I can think of is in Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

@stephenwhq See, I think it's teetering on the edge of mainstream. I think it's more likely we get something like Coronation Street doing it.

@chrisbrosnahan struggling with this!

Jack Harkness? Although that seemed more done for shock value than to show anyone in a serious poly relationship. Neither Queer as Folk and It's a Sin venerate monogamy but I'm not sure there's full on poly there.

We are miles off a Netflix drama which shows poly without being weird.

What's been the most mainstream, positive portrayal of poly relationships? (I can't think of one and it's something that strikes me as likely to happen soon)

It also reduces the urgency for publishers to do multiple print runs. By making a deal with a bookseller that also prints the books, that gives them a monopoly on that product. As if they don't already have enough competitive advantages.

2023-09-15

Here's my read of what's happened, and if so, it's frustrating.
1 - Major publisher has deal with Amazon
2 - Book sells out its print run
3 - Amazon does print-on-demand between or after print runs, so book is still available.

Here's why I dislike this. It means that, if a book becomes popular, Amazon becomes the *only* place you can buy it. At a time independent local bookshops are struggling enough.
