Also on Bluesky as ChrisVannini if folks are there.
Cody Rhodes is so incredibly over and it's very funny that some people don't think so. #WWERaw
Japan players were already on the field before the winning run scored. I love how much baseball players love the World Baseball Classic.
Trout and Ohtani playing for a championship. Only in the WBC!

Half of the No. 1 seeds in the men's and women's NCAA Tournaments failed to reach the Sweet 16 this year. Two in both.
First time since 1998 two women's No. 1 seeds didn't make the Sweet 16.
Two nights in a row, Miami eliminates Indiana in the NCAA Tournament. The men last night and the women tonight.

College athletes speeding is certainly not a new thing, but racing at Georgia leading to the deaths of two people and now 141 mph from an Alabama player fleeing police are on another level. Thank God there wasn't another tragedy.

The police report from the Tony Mitchell arrest states the vehicle he drove evaded police at 141 mph before later being found and stopped. Police found $7,000 in cash and 226 grams of marijuana…

Well then.

Tony Mitchell has been suspended from the team until Alabama gathers more information about the situation. "Everybody's got an opportunity to make choices and decisions. There's no such thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Saint Peter's had the highest-rated Elite Eight game last year and Fairleigh Dickinson is the best first round game on cable in the current setup.
America tunes in for Cinderella.

RT @AustinKarp
TNT's 4.37 million viewers for Fairleigh Dickinson's historic upset of Purdue is the best first round game on cable TV since Turner Sports became a media partner for March Madness prior to the 2011 event.

Utah prez Taylor Randall to @ESPN700 on the Pac-12 media deal:
"I like what I'm hearing coming out of our commissioner's office … we've still got a ways to go. But I think you've got some solidarity with the remaining schools and and in the presidents room in particular."

Texas State has added David Bailiff as special assistant to head coach GJ Kinne.
Bailiff was Texas State's head coach from 2004-06 and also coached at Rice and Texas A&M-Commerce.
Former North Texas head coach Seth Littrell is back at his alma mater.
Fullback and team captain on the 2000 national title team.

Venables says they have hired Seth Littrell as an offensive analyst. Littrell obviously played for OU and was previously the head coach of North Texas. #Sooners

Completely agree with this take. Olympic hockey, Olympic basketball and the WBC feel like what All-Star games used to be.
Star players trying to win. It means something. I love it.

In some ways, the #WorldBaseballClassic is replacing the excitement I used to feel about the All-Star game
Interleague play removed a lot of the mystique from seeing AL vs. NL, but MLB can’t replicate All-Star line-ups representing their count…

Drew Lock came by FAU the other day for some offseason throwing. He and Tom Herman found each other and took a photo reminiscent of their Texas Bowl squabble.
"The beef has been squashed!" Lock tweeted. https://theathletic.com/4326413/2023/03/20/fau-tom-herman-coaching-career/
FAU basketball is in the Sweet 16 for the first time. Herman showed up at bball games this spring and bought food for students.
"He’s probably working 16-hour days but goes out of his way to do things to help us grow our fan base," AD Brian White said. https://theathletic.com/4326413/2023/03/20/fau-tom-herman-coaching-career/
