The file still requires an extension, but it doesn't need to be visible to the user in the GUI.

Somehow, I thought that Finder would examine something like file magic bits or a new form of resource fork (or whatever it was in classic Mac OS. I can no longer remember.)

On the latest @atpfm , @caseyliss and @siracusa got into it about file extensions.

John said you didn't need them in macOS, but when I rename a PNG or JPEG image file, the type and icon lose its "imageyness" and switch to a Document kind.

What am I doing wrong?

I’ve been trying to give it a chance and I know Marco put a lot of work into it, but I am really not liking the @overcastfm redesign. It’s too cluttered. I don’t care about playlists but it’s the first thing I see when I open the app. No way to hide them that I can find.

As it’s pretty clear that Pinboard.in is abandonware, I finally migrated to Raindrop.io.

It was easy to transfer my stuff over and Raindrop is pretty slick!

Are you a bad actor? Do you want to have "fun" with the good guys?

Take your malicious domain that's on a bunch of lists as an FQDN, and change it to resolve to some legitimate IPs, like say oh, Google's.

Ask me how I know.

@paul FWIW I could fully saturate a 1 Gbps link with OPNsense on the lowest end i5 2011 Mac Mini without using a lot of CPU or generating much heat or noise.

Ethernet interfaces were one internal, one a Thunderbolt Ethernet dongle.

@codemonkeymike Man, I want one of those hedge trimmers. I’ve already cut through two extension cords with my corded model.
