I think that people going to Hive, Koo, or anything similar are missing the point.

@colinzarzour And finally, meeting people :D Going to meetups or conferences in your area is a great way to get some advice and hear about positions in the industry. Some Discord servers are also open to people who are trying to get into the industry.
I think I'll write a longer post about all this soon though 😄
@colinzarzour Hey! Writing will definitely help, but the first thing here is that games writing and narrative design are distinct jobs (although we often end up doing both). In both cases, it will help to have examples of interactive fiction you wrote (Twine or Ink are great places to start). If you're aiming for narrative design, working on little games with environmental design, or writing up some quests. If it's more games writing, then writing short scripts in different genres. 1/2
@awstein any advice for how to get into narrative design?
Besides just writing as much and as often as we can, ofc!

"bikeshedding" is a really useful term to know imho. It happens a lot in game UI and software in general. People find it easier to give feedback on the size of a button but not rethink an entire menu

Are prices better since the eth2.0 upgrade?
@colinzarzour I wrote a tutorial on how to setup OpenGL render window on Win32, and it got featured on flipCode and OpenGL.org. Next thing I knew, a producer from EA e-mailed me asking if I was looking for a job.
@colinzarzour I graduated #enjmin then joined Ubisoft for my internship and 15 years later I'm still here 😁
