@dabertime I always find that time works better for making people understand.
A million seconds is 12 days
A billion seconds is 32 years
A trillion seconds is 32,000 years

@newsmast I actually have multiple GitHub accounts. One for work and one for personal. I have no say in what provider my employer chooses to use for its source code. The personal one is used only for tech assessments and similar projects. I would rather not use them at all but a lot of companies insist that you must use GitHub.
@mrgm everyone knows that “eat your vitamins” is code for “take all the fucking steroids”. He was just being honest.
@Martin Canada Post is absolutely vital to our country. There are large areas not covered by UPS, FedEx, etc specifically because they’re not profitable. Without Canada Post they would be completely cut off from the rest of the world in an essential way.
Incidentally, not needing to turn a profit is why I’m in favour of the federal government building the housing we need. Forget the overpriced “luxury” condos that artificially inflate prices. Just build solid homes for normal people.
The killing of Charlie Kirk is America’s Reichstag fire. Regardless of who was behind it, the administration is taking advantage of it to lockdown the country and punish their enemies.
@lizardbill I’ve seen this making the rounds too. It’s complete bullshit. I’m sure you could use cursor or whatever to generate that much code but there’s no way you could verify it in a single day.
@rbreich that was well said. Unfortunately it’s going to fall on deaf ears. Trump and his ilk don’t want to hear anything that doesn’t align with their preconceived notions.
@limebar it depends a lot on what kind of camera you have. If it has in body image stabilization (IBIS) then the general recommendation is to get it professionally done. The risk of damaging the IBIS mechanism is too high for most people to do safely.
If you have a DSLR or other camera with a fixed sensor, then you can do it yourself. I used to use VisibleDust swabs with a liquid cleaning solution.
A rocket blower is safe to use on both types of camera but will only clean dust not pollen/oil
@mozilla will I be able to turn it off? I don’t want AI everywhere and in everything.
@cowboycatranch Affinity Photo isn’t very expensive, something like $30 last I checked, and it’s almost as good as photoshop. Another option is something like Photopea which is a free online editor.
@jeffreyw definitely deserving to be marked #oneorangebraincell
@Robo @WayneMoranPhotography I believe they use projector lights to pull it off. They also regularly have fireworks shows in the summer and those can be quite spectacular.
@Amimoregore it’s probably not completely dead but I’d send it in to see if it can be repaired. And how much it might cost. Even if the camera got away without any sort of mirror, focus sensor, or viewfinder misalignment after a hit that hard, being open like that runs the risk of light leaks ruining shots and it’s probably going to fill up with dust over time. A lot of dslrs used to come with viewfinder covers for long exposures to avoid light leaks through the viewfinder.
@mimarek I’m glad someone gets it. I never gave up on buying physical media and now I find that they completely discontinued some things a long time ago. Like The Simpsons. I wanted to finally pick up season 10 and the only place to get it is eBay. It’s been out of production for a while.
@rawchili wouldn’t Probopass be more appropriate for Marchand? Lickitung doesn’t have much of a nose.
@thanksmurph I wouldn’t trust him to manage Taco Bell.
@aggualaqisaaq I’m not at all surprised here. Tesla has been largely smoke and mirrors since day one. Their cars have always been poorly designed, overpriced, and cheaply built. As soon as real truck makers get things going their market share is going to shrivel up and die.
