I put these strongly in the category of terrible & hostile roadway design & engineering

Not good for *anything*.

they damage motor vehicles, injure cyclists & pedestrians,
(who fall *INTO* the roadway)
unnavigable by disabled & child-transporting folks and inhibit emergency response.

i wear a smiths mips
only 'street' lid I could find that's hiviz, ez 2 get, & not crazy spendy

has integral (& useless) rear light/blinky

addons:
petzl actik headlamp, held on with headband, and the ubiquitos EVT SafeZone mirror

both of which go flying when I crash, even without a head-strike. yet are secure for 'hard knocks'

my personal tenure in law enforcement was spotty and truncated, & I walked away. yup, there's a story there. heh

for a little while back in the old days,Sony made a nice 'lipstick' or bullet camera that once could plug into various sony recorders.

this was right-sized, and unobstrusive.

Since everything seems to be all-in-one now, nothing i see out there really suites.
