If possible, send us a gift link to the article you want to see in a given roundup! That way, the sites in question still get support and our readers can still openly access good writing about games.

2024-11-04

As a reader-supported operation ourselves, we genuinely approve of more outlets getting support directly from their audiences. At the same time, due to the nature of our work as a free archive, we don't want to create situations where readers can't access information we've included due to inability to pay. We also don't want to circumvent these sites' paywalls, as that would be disrespectful to the work they're trying to do.

2024-11-04

Secondly, we want to extend a gentle reminder that we try to avoid curating paywalled articles in the roundup. As more worker-owned, reader-supported outlets appear in the space, we've been receiving more links to posts that require a subscription to access (This also relates to articles at much larger sites whose paywalls have been established for a while).

Just a couple of pieces of housekeeping this month. First up: the annual roundup approaches! We're in the final stretch of the year already, which is wild. This year's reader submission window for the roundup will open on Sunday, December 1. A post will go out later this month with information on how to submit, so keep your eyes peeled!
