If you've been wanting to switch to a new search engine but didn't want to pay $5/m, kagi.com will be releasing free accounts shortly:

Within the next week, anyone will be able to use Kagi Search with 50 free searches from the homepage – no sign up, and 100 more if they create a free account.

For context, I've used 140 searches this month

@vandal sure. But you asserted that people had to name their .icon file as AppIcon.icon. That’s not true.

2025-06-17

@vandal I don’t think that’s true. You do, however, have to update your build settings to use the name of the icon file.

Your approach worked because the unchanged build settings pointed at the new file.

@MuseumShuffle @averyvine back in the day we used the NSLocalizedString-in-a-comment approach to feed string catalogs when we needed dynamic lookup of strings at runtime. Hadn’t thought about that in a decade

First day off since mid-April. I’m proud of what we delivered for the developer community. Now to re-learn how to rest…

@cfihelp sorry, you misunderstood. We said we’d be iterating and _also_ addressed that there are accessibility settings that your app should pay attention to.

SwiftUI’s concurrency annotations express its runtime semantics. Look, there’s a nice YouTube video about it:

Seven years ago, I scarcely dared to dream that I would:

1️⃣Write code that runs hundreds of times per second on billions of devices
2️⃣Teach thousands of developers how to use new tools
3️⃣Build features to help engineers do socially important work
4️⃣Help to improve code quality across entire platforms
5️⃣Become an expert in low-level programming topics
6️⃣Write forum posts that changed the direction of multimillion-dollar efforts
7️⃣Take on a technical leadership role in an open source project
8️⃣Help people like me to see a future for themselves

What will your list look like if you join my team? hachyderm.io/@holly/1146427927
