Super eagerly awaiting the HEIC uploads from my phone to Pixelfed

LOL yes I'm just watching this video about leaving Windows - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtgJi5DVxmo. There is very little today anyone actually specifically needs Windows for.

Oh, My! This is FRUSTRATING with #pixelfed - posts say you can upload images and video, but after spending 30 mins resizing videos smaller, adding alt-text to each one, etc I get a message that I can't mix the types. Fair enough - but then say that before the post is created, not after the work is done. I've lost all my motivation now to go redo two separate posts for this.

It is a cumbersome way to create a Collection, which would be the 3rd step then required.

No, this had nothing to do with Apple, as I don't use Apple... This was merely Pixelfed not allowing the HEIC format file to be uploaded. I use HEIC format as it is better, and smaller, than JPG. But the dev has responded to say HEIC uploads should be working later in the month, which is great news.

Irritating! Still can't uoad my phone's #heic format photos to #pixelfed - this means converting some to jpg, uploading, then deleting the jpg photos. Other sites do accept heic and surely they are better now than jpg format?

Pixelfed error saying only legacy format photos like jpg and mp4 can be uploaded.

I did the same when LastPass suddenly increased their subscription by about 50% - I moved to open source Bitwarden and paid their subscription fee instead.

Many months after it is back in stock in #SouthAfrica I'm glad to see the shelves being restocked regularly again

OMG! All I can say is the claims are true - rich peatiness, smokyness and complex, yet very smooth. The after-taste lingered for ages (the enjoyment goes on and on) and I could even detect traces still after I had a cup of coffee...
