Finally got my #karrot instance up and running smoothly on the stable released version.

Thanks to the @karrot team for helping try to make sense of the errors I was seeing and being patient to answer and check the code.

I feel like I want to make a video that introduces and talks about the features and what the platform can do. It's very subjective, but I really like the feel of it and really want to try to get my local groups using it to push the limits and see what it does well.

When using that site to pull up a PeerTube video, this is what it looks like.

@FediTips @helianthropy I based my answers from activitypub.academy/ since I don't run Mastodon. That site is running 4.1.18 from the footer so I have no visibility into newer versions.

@helianthropy Yes, in Mastodon the Channel will boost the video that the owner's account posted. In Mastodon, the Channels will be listed as a "Group" account.

On Mastodon, it does not look like the videos will play in your timeline. In other platforms, the videos will show up with a built-in player and you can watch without having to open up the original link, but Mastodon doesn't appear to do that, requiring a click on the link to view.

I do not use Mastodon for this instance so I had to check using the test site.

@helianthropy When I test searching for a channel in Mastodon using the full channel "account", it looks like the following.

If you see this and can follow, then you did it correctly. You will get all new videos showing up in your timeline, but not already-published ones that haven't been seen by your instance yet.
