@ElizabethLouise @JEmphatically I wouldn't suggest what we are doing is comprehensive, but we have created seeds for quite a few GoA sites. https://archive-it.org/collections/2901

@kevinbowrin Yep, read this one this morning and it is the perfect example of an own goal. Yeesh. What she said is so appropriate for a teen to feel and say.
@adr Just finished eating some of the bean salad I brought for lunch.
Such meetings are a pox no matter where they are held, but cities are not exactly pristine environments.
Who thought it was a good idea to host a G7 meeting in an ecologically sensitive area? We can also only hope it rains a lot or someone will surely start a fire that will burn out of control.
Also, moving from Michigan to Florida alone tells you everything you need to know about a leader. Ick, and double ick.
Really value the candor in this analysis from Alex Usher of Santa Ono's move from Michigan to Florida. We rarely see this type of narrow criticism of leadership and it is so valuable to have when doing a search. I had one professional conversation with Ono during his time at UBC and I was underwhelmed and put off, to say the least, so I was clearly the target audience for this critique. https://higheredstrategy.com/onos-arc/
@apsmith @ustinoff.bsky.social I concur with Tagearbeiter. The writer writes somewhat odd lower case a, but given that -arbeiter is fairly clear, I think we can agree it's Tage- up front. Interestingly, just had some fun with ChatGPT trying to transcribe this. Pretty sure I was training it, not the other way around.
@adr I understand the need to be in opposition, but I also feel like his constant barrage against the government just drives voters over to the Cons, not to the NDP. No one votes for critics.
@adr I've met him and had a brief conversation. He's a smart, funny, real person. Not sure he has the skills and vision, however, to bring votes to NDP candidates across Canada.
@adr I tend to agree with you. Would be nice to eliminate first past the post. Also, the NDP should have changed leadership when the Liberals did. They had zero national momentum or vibe. I say that as a staunch NDP voter.
@sleslie Exactly. Even 45 minutes isn't terrible. I was in and out in three minutes today.
My service moment today was to discard two containers of milk--still unopened--in the staff fridge that expired ... last September. Or was it September 2023? I thought throwing them in the trash full was cruel to housekeeping, so opened and drained them. Will now have nightmares for weeks.
Every time I vote in Canada, I have a smile on my face. It's easy, it's accessible, it doesn't favour gaming or manipulation of voters. Also, the poll workers are nice and spoke both languages with me.

I read this Walrus article about the rise of local long-form journalism right before seeing that the Globe & Mail had given space to Preston Manning to spread his deluded separatist sentiments. I want to invest my media dollars in outlets that actually do reporting, not just draw eyeballs with sensationalist clickbait. https://thewalrus.ca/canadian-journalism-reinvention/
@adr I share this sentiment. Part of what makes me sigh when I see it is that social media is the wrong place to explore these issues. They take, you know, a bit of research into sources that actually have vetted information. These posts always inspire a lot of people who don't know enough to opine to do so when they really shouldn't.
@djfiander We need more phone choices, for sure.
