The first release of Asset Cooker is here!
github.com/jlaumon/AssetCooker

The repo was made public almost exactly one year ago! Many bug fixes and improvements were committed since then 🙂

And now that the release workflow is setup, I will try to make more frequent releases, with proper release notes!

@lritter here, use this basis instead:

(0, 1, 0),
(0, 0, 1)

I tried out the new slnx format, and it's easier to generate from a custom buildsystem.
Requires a recent vs (just some weeks old).

@MouseByTheSea you of course still want to make backups
and maybe get latest from your repo on more than one pc regularly

Been using ark-vcs.com for a few weeks now. Not done anything advanced, not even branches. But it seems like a better version of Perforce.
Hopefully it gets more users and more active development.
I'm happy to not be using git for hobby stuff anymore.

Changing stairs into a ramp without removing the handrail first.
Common level design mistake.

@dotstdy why?
i think it can work for a few minutes if you're stuck or in someone else's domain and they're with you, or if you need to combine 2 disciplines in a certain area of code. say get a pro from the audio part to integrate with the physics part.
or are you thinking 100% pair every day no matter task?

@lritter I started buying LEGO again after a 40 year hiatus.
I quickly realized I didn't want to mix new fresh pieces with the old.
Coloring, bite marks, even some core design changes.

The git that keeps on giving.

Added support for Cosserat rods to Jolt Physics. This is a stick constraint with an orientation that can be used to attach geometry. Can be used e.g. to simulate vegetation in a cheap way.

@lritter too bad Em Dash — compart.com/en/unicode/U+2014 isn't accepted by msvc/gcc/clang, or we could map that to a key.

Imagine if there was a play-button next to each launchable project in the sln explorer 🤯 @VS_Debugger

I started work on the Snakebird demake, "Snekburd", back in July 2024 and I'm finally going to release it on Itchio and the Lexaloffle BBS on Monday, April 28. I've also made a small trailer reminiscent of Snakebird's original trailer.

The terrible state of shipping binaries on Linux:
jangafx.com/insights/linux-bin
Glibc needs to die and GPL was a mistake.
Lots of the APIs are terrible too, so everything is just about backwards compat.
Learning all junk just to get around it is not the future.
We need a new OS.

"Here, take a Lua ruler! It starts with 1!" #mch2022

A white hand holds a white sticker with markings and a Lua logo. Indeed, it starts with 1!

LEGO building at angles.
Probably useful knowledge outside the world of LEGO too.

After decades of general python terribleness for packaging, I'm discovering uv is actually good?
- fast
- does things sensibly (defaults to npm style .lock files)
- not dogmatic
