Christoff, the human

There is a 5000-word introduction pinned with more info.

With this account I am seeking #simplicity and distraction from the mundane world via computing I missed when I was younger (#BBS, #C64).

I am pretty much a typical #geek. Keen observer of human behavior.

I #hack into people, computers, phones, and networks for a living as a #pentester.

I'm building #NecroNeonBBS - a necropolis you can visit and obtain residency in. #vaporware

Due to popular demand (at least two persons!), here is a binary release of my Apple II Mastodon client, #MastodonForApple2, and my Raspberry network-serial proxy, "surl-server". Hope you'll like it!

@tom yeah, think SaaS providers sorta took over so places like wordpress.com and squarespace.com took over.

MarsEdit for macOS is pretty nice, but it's just a GUI for managing a WordPress (and a few other CMSes) remotely without the web browser.

Curious to know what you find!

@retrom big same, it's becoming more and more a challenge, to be sure. this stuff isn't going away and seems to be the new normal isn't the future I was planning on :(

@Megaboz was just another scripting language, honestly.

It can do all things you'd want a language to do and did it fairly quickly and easily.

AOLserver was written in TCL, remember that? hah

@Recta_Pete I used to be the funny guy there, now I have to do it without pop culture references.

Bah humbug.

@Megaboz thanks! haven't seen or touched TCL in forever, perhaps the last time was for work with pl/tcl for postgresql in the early 2000s when I also had to write database functions in C for speed reasons, hah.

Matrix (VIC-20)

Gridrunner and Matrix/AMC are beautiful sci-fi takes on the arcade game Centipede.

If you're quite high, it seems like the logical progression. 😉

Gridrunner gets the core game into an unexpanded VIC. Matrix adds lots of extra animation, strobe effects, and more types of aliens.

This is a GUI chat program I used 1999-2001-ish that was written in TCL/Tk. You had picture avatars on picture backgrounds with chat bubbles and other stuff. Was neat.

Been unable to get in contact with anyone from then but put the code in a GitHub repo at github.com/deadbeefmonster/Ope

Won't be a high priority but there anyway.
