Today's the big day. In about six hours, I'll be Deacon Beck.
Your friendly neighborhood queer transgender Polish-American progressive Christian Michigander. He/Him.
Today's the big day. In about six hours, I'll be Deacon Beck.
Today's gender is listless and confident.
excuse me EXCUSE ME WHAT
I have to repeat myself. Why isn't this on the headline of all newspapers?
I'm getting ordained in two days and the Bible I'll be presented during the service is coming in the mail TODAY and I don't know why, but that's giving me the feels.
@faithisleaping it's amazing. DM me if you want more detailed info. The spot I'm at is extremely LGBTQ+ friendly.

It's a good day.
I'm very hype to hike today.
Helping people with church hurt approach the Bible in a new way is one of the very best things about the work I do.
Today's gender is a focused, boundless ogre.
@faithisleaping Just to confirm, I am a cis man with shy bladder syndrome, meaning I CANNOT pee in a urinal. Unisex bathrooms are great and need to be more common because then I am guaranteed to have a private space where I can be at peace.
@faithisleaping nobody said you can't have multiples of the same thing. I found a wrap dress in my mid-twenties that I really liked and bought two of them in each of the three colors it came in that went with the rest of my wardrobe.
@faithisleaping ...gender stereotypes aren't actually grounded in any kind of truth. It's all constructs. Most days, I'm happy with how I dress relative to my budget and what I have access to.
@faithisleaping I love this. One carry over from my pre-transition life is a really firm commitment to a strong capsule wardrobe with a unified color story. (The actual color story has changed as I've shifted from femme to masc clothes, which is its own whole story) It helps with my unwillingness to spend too much time on any given day planning my presentation... All that labor happens when I'm purchasing. I still sometimes feel like I put too much effort in based on gender stereotypes but...
@marsroverdriver @mekkaokereke I love this line from the Wikipedia article that discusses the background of the battle, before Texans revolted against the Mexican government, leading to the battle of the Alamo.
"Mexican authorities blamed much of the Texian unrest on United States immigrants, most of whom had entered illegally and made little effort to adapt to the Mexican culture and who continued to hold people in slavery when slavery had been abolished in Mexico."
@faithisleaping I'm trying to be better about engaging on all my apps instead of just doom scrolling on one or two. It's a process.
The gender of the day is a boundless void.
A literal Nazi on The Bird App called me evil for:
-Quoting PB Curry's "If it's not about love, it's not about God."
-Sharing an ENS image of the Baltimore Bishops Against Gun Violence Rally
-Sharing a photo of people praying in a wetland
-Celebrating TEC's established history of ordaining women to the priesthood.
I don't know what he was trying to do, but he pretty much made my day. If genocidal Christofascists are offended by my beliefs, I'm pretty sure I'm doing something right. 🤷
Just confirming I still exist!
Also! Please pray for me. On July 1 I will be ordained to the Diaconate. Yay!
