Hopefully, this will get me the minimum to get my conlang's back up. It doesn't have a per-page dictionary entry like I envisioned, but at least it lists all the words in the dictionary in a print dictionary like format.

I hope to show it off "soon" because I want some validation and want to be told I'm pretty.

Got through most of the bit-rotting by just commenting out the CLi logic. I have plans for that, but I also want it to be more generic, which means carving it out of the Fedran pipelines and make it a dedicated process.

(I really should learn how to make cachix or something like that works so I don't have to constantly rebuild it though.)

I hit the next rock in the deployment... I've never had to check out the language files for the website deployment before, so there are five more repos in a different Foregejo group that I need to clone and integrate.

It's a good thing I didn't stay up to finish watching it run... I would have been devastated and obsessed about it.

Fedran's website generation has bit-rotted. :(

I miss the code when I spent a month writing IEFT tag parsing in C#.

I dislike passive protagonists in fiction. I can give reasons, starting with the Greek root of the word meaning 'first to act', and personal response to being deprived of agency.

I had not previously considered how prevailing traditions in white, Western story telling might also be a factor.

I have just discovered an essay by Vida Cruz-Borja with a very different perspective which has given me a great deal to think about.

@sunarch I go in waves with pocket notebooks. I got a huge stack of field notes many years ago and was going through one a month.

Then my brain and vision got worse and even the dot grids were too dark for me. Ended up stop using it because having my notes sync across computers was addictive and not having pens break in my pocket is nice.

These days, my main notes are sheets of plain white printer paper in a clipboard. I rewrite my lists every 3-5 days to keep things fresh. I use those for my daily focus even when I have a phone.

Put up the inflatable Christmas decorations, put snow hats on the skeletal flamingo riders, and zip tied a fan to a bed. Time to code until Child.0 makes me play Core Keeper.

The only thing left to do is integrate the dictionary into the website, but need a break first.

Well, added six new commands to my fedran-miwafu, went through and validated all the words in the dictionary, and finished reformatting them to the new style. Plus cleaned up some of the old structure elements.

Sadly, I had to create a patch for Sand and Ash and Sand and Bone because I misspelled a word and didn't want to retcon it.

Decided to expand on my fedran-miwafu TypeScript CLI/library to provide access to the inflect/deflect so I can do it without writing code.

Plus, I'm going to add a validate command to tell me if I'm using the wrong accents or syllables because over the years, I've added a few invalid words to my dictionary.

Oof, I realized I don't have a standard way of referencing stories/chapters in my Fedran universe (my dictionary has chapter excerpts when I used them in story).

I do use a standard "slug" for all my stories in that they have unique slugs and there is never an overlap of characters and slugs. For example sand-and-blood is my novel and rutejimo is the main character for the story. (I know this will break if we have a duplicate character name, but I probably won't.)

So, I have two patterns, slash identifiers or use hash separators. I'm leaning toward slash, such as chapter one of Sand and Blood being sand-and-blood/1 and the Rutejìmo's birth being rutejimo/birth.

Alternatively, use hashes but I think that would make it harder to put them as links or YAML needing that to be quoted.

For almost ten years, my Typescript library fro inflecting Miwāfu words for gender has had the accents reversed for masculine and feminine.

And I've found two invalid words so far while transforming prior dictionary entries into a language-neutral format.

Looks like I don't have the spoons to participate in Lexember (hence to hash tag), but I am going to spend a few days recovering my lost entries for Hissan, normalize my Miwāfu dictionary, and see about getting them into the Fedran website for next year.

I'm making our "cheap" parent's night out meal: air fryer steak, sauteed mushrooms and onions, and baked potatoes. We have apple pie for dessert.
