@indigoparadox almost no one knows this but the disc swap works on the OG PS2, also.
Just FWIW in case you have one and like those filters.

@anderseknert their āblogāis hilarious
Thereās definitely a human involved here that should be held accountable. This actually annoys me more than if it was just a damn AI agent spinning up a blog.
@oppen OG HomePods are pretty good in a stereo pair.
I have a very high end audiophile system and HomePods hold up well for the money and size until you get to like 90+ decibels.
I think the second generation was a downgrade but I never tried them at home.
Appleās headphones are also excellent now, both AirPods Max and Pro 2 (3 is bass heavy).
The competing wireless headphones Iāve used are really poor and agreed about Echo etc. being garbage.
I lament what happened to Tannoy.
@antiaall3s yeah it sounds like you live in an area that is real hostile for some reason, I donāt. That really sucks.
Iāve been the only one masking maybe half the time and I donāt get bothered, especially the last few years. If anyone is remotely a dick I just cough hard a few times and they literally scatter which is kind of funny. Big āole smile under my mask.
But I wasnāt being glib or snarky, it took me a year or so to get care I should have before but once I did itās been ok. Take care.
@antiaall3s anecdotally, Iāve been to medical facilities for many many things in the last 5 years and a KN95 has kept me completely Covid free.
Like, Iām talking 50? Visits between appointments and tests and bloodwork. Take care of your health and donāt let paralysis rob you of medical care.
I hope you get well soon.
@CStamp I love how big of a deal it is to move the station slightly.
And then never again.
I really hope it gets an HD treatment someday.
@nolan @richard5mith @gregr Right with you, tool use a year ago changed everything. Obviously more since then.
If this technology launched with the 2025 versions of the product vs 2023 there would be a lot less very smart people being willfully ignorant.
I donāt say this as a whole hearted blind endorsement, but nevertheless I believe it to be true.
It is painful, for many reasons.
@colincornaby how do large context models e.g. Gemini perform if you feed them the docs using something like sosumi.ai?
Genuinely curious, I havenāt gotten to Metal programming yet and for sure agree natively there would be huge struggle with newer frameworks.
@atomicpoet thanks for posting, will probably buy! š āØ
Internet weather is spicy today.
So was the decision to have tacos for breakfast.
Coincidence? Perhaps :blobcatcoffee:
@gbsills @vkc donāt advocate for a bystander effect on the freaking internet maybe is a start?!
Anonymity gives these assholes power and hey, guess what, anonymity can help you stand up when you see it happening so the author doesnāt have to defend themselves for *existing*
JUMP. IN. AND. HELP.
Do not normalize this. Do not minimize it. By Doing so *you are part of the problem*
Really reflect on this before you type more words. Seriously.
@Daojoan at a startup I worked at a long time ago the founder gave a demo where he was on a call in one ear and had a headset on the other ear with the developer who was real-time fixing things and making sure he went via the happy path.
He slowly hovered over buttons and youād hear screaming from across the building like āno!!ā and then gracefully just move on.
It was kind of impressive in a horrid way.
The industry is so full of lies, damned lies, etc.
@jepyang I can corroborate this, it is a huge change for me waking up in a good mood. I donāt think Iāve had that in a remotely consistent way since I was single digit aged.
Yes, ups and downs sometimes, but the average is hugely improved and thatās worth celebrating.
I hope a lot of people get this effect because itās just⦠nice.
Iāve been finding the emotional nuances fascinating and I rarely read anecdotes about them, there is so much āthereā there. In a mostly great way.
@erininthemorning.com thank you, ordered! :)
@skinnylatte stuff like this really puts me off moving to the otherwise wonderful Bay Area.
Itās such a beautiful city with such a toxic culture of tech. I wish I did it a decade+ ago, now it seems⦠unwise.
The job market doesnāt help matters of course but thatās most places, now.
You can really tell who has a terrible local LLM set up, there is word salad all over the place and elsewhere people probably paying many dollars per hour on API usage for models that arenāt absolutely idiotic.
This is fascinating in a way. Incredibly stupid, but fascinating nonetheless.
