I added 10 more schools to Hacktivate last week – completely free cyber security challenges for schools around the world! 3 were in the UK, five in the US, and two elsewhere. It’s a fantastic, free classroom activity 👩💻🚀👨💻
If you’re a teacher you can sign up for free, and add as many students as you want for free – there’s literally no catch 😅 If you’re a parent and want to see more cyber skills at your kid’s school, send them to Hacktivate: https://www.hacktivate.io
Adam Tow ( @atow ) has taken amazing photos LIVE near WWDC for many years now—since 2023 he’s also been responsible for the concert live stream.
Adam’s long history of pro photography and video production includes the photos of Steve Jobs seen during our encore song ‘One More Thing…’
His MixEffect app controlled video switching for the live stream.
(See Adam’s post for all the technical details.)
Thank you Adam for capturing these moments and making us all look good!

A giant thank you to Liz Marley ( @emarley ) for running front of house at LIVE near WWDC for the past two years!
Liz leads a group of volunteers from concert beneficiary Techtonica to manage attendee check-in, merch setup and sales, and keeping things running smoothly so the band can focus on performing the best show possible.
Thank you Liz and everyone who volunteered from @Techtonica!
Tim Condon ( @0xTim ) made his first appearance as a Conditional Breakpoint at this year’s LIVE near WWDC!
Perhaps better known for his efforts in the Swift on Server community, Tim demonstrated his skills on alto sax, soloing on two JDBP classics—‘Modelin’ Man’ and ‘Model View Controller’.
Welcome and thank you Tim! It was great having you aboard!

Thank you James! 😊 It was a real pleasure and delight to perform with you and the amazing breakpoints! I'll get my instrument fixed for the next year so I can jam with the band! 🎸

Ken Ferry ( @kongtomorrow ) rejoins us LIVE near WWDC on cello after a one-year absence.
The deep, rich tones of his cello add so much texture and beauty to songs such as Relationships, One More Thing and the newly introduced song Source Of Truth.
We’re all so glad to have you back this year Ken!

Emile K has been performing violin LIVE near WWDC since the conference was held in SF.
Her violin adds so much to songs like ‘Relationships’ and this year’s new song ‘Source Of Truth’. And to the delight of all, she magically transforms her violin into a fiddle for the up-tempo country western JDBP classic ‘I Love View’ and transforms it once again for her slide guitar-esque performance on ‘The Liki Song’.
We are always thrilled to hear you play Emilie! Thank you!

Sommer Panage ( @sommer ) is, to date, the only flautist to perform with us LIVE near WWDC.
As a longtime proponent of app accessibility, her flute solo on The Accessibility Song carries with it additional meaning. She’s also a founding member of The Breakpoint Dancers who seemingly appear out of thin air to groove along to the bridges during the Relationship song.

Adrian Eves ( @swifteves ) joined us onstage LIVE near WWDC for the third year in a row.
His banjo fingerpicking adds the perfect twangy tone in ‘I Love View’. Adrian also sings backing vocals on a variety of numbers including the new song ‘Source Of Truth’. He is also a founding member of the irrepressible Breakpoint Dancers.
Thank you Adrian!

Ken Case ( @kcase ) of @OmniGroup fame began performing LIVE near WWDC after the conference moved back to San Jose.
He began singing the bass ‘object alloc’ chant during The Liki Song. Since then, he has sung backing vocals on many songs and anchors the a cappella quartet in ‘My Beautiful Mutable Shared State’.
On keyboard, Ken solos on ‘The Optional Song’ and this year was featured on the new song ‘Source Of Truth’.

Pavan Rajan ( @pavanrajam ) has played lead guitar with the Breakpoints since 2023.
You can hear him on a variety of songs but is best known by LIVE near WWDC audiences for his incredible shredding solos on the Breakpoints only metal song and only song about a low-level graphics framework—Right To The Metal.
Thanks for really bringing it year after year Pavan!

Daniel Steinberg ( @dimsumthinking ) plays slide-advance keyboard for the Breakpoints. He’s kept the visuals in sync with the music for countless shows.
As seen in this photo, Daniel has also emceed the show the past few years. Whether introducing the audience to the concert’s beneficiary, pumping up the crowd before the music starts, or hanging in the back playing slide-advance keyboard, Daniel is an integral part of LIVE near WWDC.
Thank you Daniel for all you do!

Jonathan Penn ( @jonathanpenn ) has performed in every LIVE near WWDC show since 2013—our second concert ever!

Anuj Arora ( @the_anuj ) joined the Breakpoints last year on bass.
In addition to his amazing instrumental skills he’s coordinated with the sound engineer at the show. With about 16 performers playing a range of instruments including sax, cello, violin, and ukulele, plus backing vocals—that is no small feat!
Thank you Anuj and welcome back for LIVE near WWDC 2025!
