Been thinking about how as the web gets less pleasant to use: cookie pop ups, newsletter sign up and discount prompts, and ads upon ads everywhere you turn - people are going to be more than happy to have a corporate AI: Siri, Alexa, Bard, ChatGPT, etc summarize the web for them. Instead of being frustrated reading recipe blog posts that are 70% personal story BS when all anyone wants is an ingredient list and instructions, they’ll trust AI to provide them with the best Pad Thai recipe instead.

"Wow, this is such unclear jargon, generic cliches, no specifics, no proof, no differentiation. Lol this is so bad." 🙄

You write copy for your own company: "XYZ made easy, robust and comprehensive solutions. Get a demo now!"

For some reason when writing copy for yourself, suddenly your IQ and EQ drop 100 points and you start writing marketing speak. 🤦

I like how we’re at a place where we’re upset that the promised tropical storm is not destructive enough and not everyone felt that earthquake in LA. Like we’re in some BDSM scenario, yelling slap us harder Mother Nature, we didn’t even feel that one.

Last Wednesday evening @nova had a climbing accident and died.

First expert recommendation I've seen to replace Twitter icons from @RossHudgens on Twitter. Usually, I'm the person at our company that keeps up with this stuff and I would have requested our graphics team replace it already if it wasn't for "gesture vaguely at space". I feel like a lot of people view changing the icon as aligning with Musk and his views, instead of a simple corporate logo update. Did Meta ever object to Twitter using X that they have the trademark for?

How do you keep your marketing automation from becoming a stage 5 clinger and a turn off for customers?

The amount of emails that start with "did you find something you like" is getting ridiculous.
Even Yelp now emails follow ups about any restaurant you simply viewed on their site just to ask if you actually went there. It feels creepy.

Are people measuring if all of this is really effective or is everyone just doing all the things their tools allow just because they can? #marketing
