@klarinin Ja, geht mir ähnlich. Risse im Schritt habe ich daher schon öfter repariert. Ich benutze dafür übrigens normales, kein Jeansgarn. Könnte mir auch vorstellen, dass das damit zu grob/dick wird.

Einen Riss an einer aufgesetzten Tasche hab ich lustigerweise auch gemacht heute. Weil das nur ein Riss, kein Loch war, konnte ich da aber einfach ein paar Mal der Länge nach mit einem Zickzackstich drübergehen.

@klarinin Kein Problem – ja genau, ich habe den Bereich eingespannt und bin dann ohne Transporteur und mit dem Stickfuß meiner Nähmaschine in immer wieder vor- und zurückgegangen, abwechselnd horizontal und vertikal. Nachdem ich den Stoff mit einem groben Gitter stabilisiert hatte, bin ich dann nochmal mehrfach drübergegangen bis alles komplett dicht war. So kann man selbst große Löcher füllen und es geht recht nahtlos (haha) in den Rest des Stoffes über. Wenn die Garnfarbe passt, fällt es auch kaum auf.

In diesem Fall war das Loch recht klein, daher habe ich gar keine Verstärkung verwendet. Wenn man den Bereich komplett dicht mit Stichen füllt ist das Ergebnis auch mehr als stabil genug (eher stabiler als der restliche Stoff). Bei einem größeren Loch hätte ich vorher dünnes Vlies angebracht um etwas zu haben über das ich drübernähen kann (und damit der Stickrahmen das Loch nicht überstreckt). Aber ansonsten verwende ich beim Löcher stopfen in Hosen keine Verstärkung.

Wobei ich hier noch ein Stück Vlies innen nach dem Stopfen angebracht habe, damit es nicht so reibt.

Done! Densified the stitches so that the damaged area is mostly completely filled and added some less dense stitches to the other, also weakened, side to reinforce it as a precaution. Then I added some lining for less leg chafing.

Taking my sewing machine with me to GPN really was a great idea, btw. I showed some people how to sew with a sewing machine for the first time and was even able to help repair stuff. For example, someone's backpack strap ripped off, which I was able to sew back on so they didn't have to carry it in their hands on the way back home.

It was really fun and a great way to start conversations with new people. I'll definitiely take it to chaos events again if I can arrange it. I think I'll try to prepare a pattern and some pre-cut fabric for a mini plushie or something next time, so instead of telling people "here's a scrap, you can sew lines on it" they can make a mini project and take the result home though.

Repairing a pair of jeans! Nothing fancy, but being able to repair stuff I'd just have thrown away back before I started sewing still feels quite empowering. #sewing

I bought a ZSA Moonlander on eBay and actually received a broken one, wow.

The keys on one of the thumb modules don't work. As far as I can tell because of corrossion on the contacts of the tiny flex cable connecting it. There are sticky residues in that area, probably cola or something, which probably caused the corrosion.

Seems to be repairable. I think I mostly have to replace the flex cable. I'll also open a case with eBay for a return or partial reimbursement. Mostly though, I'm just a bit baffled that someone had the audacity to just sell a plainly broken device. What were they thinking? That I wouldn't notice that 4 whole keys aren't working?
