@mikoto i really like the one you submitted!
@takaharu 1.1 vs 2.0 is the same number of pins and is basically just a color difference, otoh 3.0 adds some complexity because it has a lot more pins to route and the ports themselves increase the BOM cost slightly.
that and they might need to add a 3.0 hub chip for some of the ports at that point, when you could instead have some ports be 2.0 for your keyboards and whatnot
also some devices are cursed/noncompliant and act weird in 3.0 ports
Weinwacher moves.

the beefiest powerpc nt system in the west?
still plenty of things to figure out:
cdfs.sys
specifically when winlogon/etc comes up, so far only renaming it out the way allowed the system to bootiossdmc.sys
reads and writes both need to use CPU0 exclusively otherwise i get bugchecks during the endian swap memcpy@takaharu yeah, and it likely doesn't have SATA hooked up, just 2 lanes of pcie instead of the 4 an m-key drive has. those shorty b-key slots are typically used for cellular connectivity.
@aryl that's normal. smiling is for exceptional circumstances only

@eniko yes, and for me it took a couple years to really recover
There’s a new arcade near Seattle that had their grand opening today.
Lots of exclusive to Japan stuff, including shmups! I went down for a few hours and met up with some old arcade friends I hadn’t seen in a while. It was awesome and pretty busy!
Announcing: https://justaqrcode.com.
Tired of "free" QR code generators that are full of ads and trackers, that share your data, and that want to sell you something? Me too. Here's my act of resistance: I made a one-page site that works entirely in your browser to generate a simple QR code. And that's all it does. You can download the HTML page and run it locally, even. Read the source; nothing up my sleeves. Just a QR code.
My offer to you -- I will continue to pay for the domain name and web hosting for it, myself. If you find it valuable, you can pay it back by creating your own useful thing for the world and releasing it for free. Let's take back the friendly web, one vexingly-monetized utility at a time!
#COVID19 is NOT like the flu. STUDY compares severe outcomes from COVID and flu infections across three time periods and finds COVID patients had a 68% to 104% higher risk of severe outcomes compared to flu patients. (They defined severe outcome as a composite outcome of ICU admission, mechanical ventilation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, or death during hospitalization.)
@takaharu it's even worse when someone sparks up next to you when you're sitting downwind
@srxl it's like a kilometer but more bigger
@takaharu it's mostly for devices that are smaller, i bought one to stick in the cell modem slot of my thinkpad at one point, but also handhelds like the steam deck use the shorter form factors.
they are very cute though!
