Arc GIS was yesterday. Palantir is coming in big to "save" the day. It will save everyone sooooo much time.

The German medical education system is stuck in the early 1900s. French universities have an entry exam. German universities purely select based on your high school average. So someone who can remember random information by heart is the default candidate. Social skills are neither required nor taught. Additionally, there is an unspoken belief that doctors and lawyers are the top socially desirable jobs. Empathy plays more role plus an arrogance booster.

They usually also display a replica of the flag that was placed on the Reichstag.

@randahl
They always had a T-34. Usually it was at the opening of the parade.
@BrianJopek
Don't worry. Any sane Western intelligence agency has already reduced their intelligence sharing with people who use a third-country Signal ripoff with deliberately built-in security flaws. These people can't keep a secret if their lives depended on it.

With American boots, trucks, oil, fuel, ammunition and tanks. The second most frequent tank used by the Red Army was the Sherman M4.

If you are coming from 200% of Canadians having positive attitudes towards the US, - 41% ain't that bad.

In many of your podcast episodes Frank or Thomas always ask about the share of US expenditure in support of the European theater. I know this is hard to measure, but how many of the capabilities available go to the Middle East and East Asia while being counted as a contribution to NATO?

He has the right tattoos. Deus Vult from World of Tanks.

But they know how to negotiate budgets and convince Parliament. Having led a logistics company hardly qualifies you for a cabinet level position. Military background for a secretary of defense should be an exception not a job requirement.

This is a cabinet of amateurs who prefer perfomative shitposting over coherent policy.
@randahl
They already share that facility anyway. They get to save up on many staff positions, though. Merz should kick them out, so they can work both theaters from Oklahoma.
@VeroniqueB99
Unfortunately not true.

The Internet of Things ended up being the internet of unsupported products.
Google is ending support for 1st & 2nd generation Nests and completely pulling out of Europe.
Imagine having to replace the thermostats in your home because a reorg at some big tech meant it was no longer a priority.

@randahl
Rarely have I seen such a blatant display of impotence, helplessness and inability. We have a colloquialism in Germany saying "Der kann gar nichts" (He's incapable of anything at all.)
Maybe the American people will realize that they elected fecal Midas who turns literally everything to shit he touches.
@mancavgeek @NotTheLBCGuy @cstross Well, yes and no. The aircraft has had more mishaps and two crashes. Boeing has had structural ails for ove a decade, having put MBAs in positions where engineers belonged. The quest for more earnings drove quality down. Everyone in the market knows that. The demand is extreme, so they still have a business. But they need serious rectification of their leadership.
@MAKS23
1.9%. Although some sham bullshit "accord" may be signed by Moscow and Witkoff. Then they can blame Ukraine.
@NotTheLBCGuy
These are specifically 737Max. An aircraft ridden with crashes and disregard for the safety of its passengers. If they sell 130 of those it will be at a steel discount. This Chinese refusal will hurt.
@cstross
Boeing begins flying back planes refused by Chinese airlines
Beijing orders carriers to stop taking deliveries of US jets as part of its trade war strategy
(130 undelivered Boeing airliners won't now be paid for and will have to be sold off elsewhere! That's about $25-30Bn of product)
@MAKS23
Melnyk is delusional.
