40% of US AI researchers come from Chinese undergrad institutions. We can't just open the tap and fill that gap--we don't have the institutional or talent base.
If this goes through, it's not just a self-own--it's a death knell for the US AI industry.

"Rubio said on Wednesday the United States will start revoking visas of Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields."

(I set up an "org profile" so now I have Emmie Hine the person and Emmie Hine the #brand)

NY Tech Week is using Partiful for RSVPs and people's profile pictures are about to get a lot less fun 😂

(I interpreted it to mean "try not to read the AI overview," not "don't Google anything.")

Fun new conundrum: I got asked to do a work test without AI assistance... but Googling anything now means getting involuntary AI assistance 😅

A couple reader requests in today's Ethical Reckoner (including an #AI Hallucinations 101), plus an update on the CA bar exam chaos. Ever want to take a writing class from Agatha Christie? Ever think that idea sounds sketchy? Read more ⬇️
